SoCal Edison will be shutting off our power in a couple of hours. This outage will last, if I had to guess, way more than 24 hours. Really strong Santa Ana winds expected through Thursday.
I expect you are right. It would lack class, like walking out last night without addressing the people who worked so hard for her. She followed Hillary’s book on that.
Happy New Dawn in America, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven, and Mac!
I went to a hockey game last night, rather than stress out over the election returns. Now I’m going to skim over last night’s reporting at AoSHQ to see how the night progressed. I wonder how many reports we’ll get today about banned poll watchers and 2 am deliveries of ballots?
First fire up -- Moorpark west of us. Up to 1000 acres and it was reported only 90 minutes ago. No fixed wing aircraft can hit it due to wind. This one will go big, but away from us.
Ran out to get a couple of gallons of gas for the generator. Still have power but a large swath of the urban valley immediately below us is shut off -- I guess they don’t teach it in driver’s ed anymore that when a traffic light isn’t working, treat it the same as a 4-way stop sign.
According to CalFire, there’s one fixed-wing aircraft doing perimeter mapping, and one helicopter that’s attacking the portion of the fire that jumped towards Camarillo.
I haven’t heard anything about this, but I was curious as to voter turnout 2024 compared to 2020. In 2020, about 158M votes were cast or counted; in 2024, the number right now is about 139M. That’s almost 20M fewer votes cast than 4 years ago -- what happened to those voters or are there still millions of uncounted votes out there? It adds fuel to the speculation fire that the 2020 election was a fraud.
Good morning, GN. This is a very good morning.

A good morning. I do hope you don’t lose power too long. Sucks to live in a third world country.
Thanks, Mac. Checking everything, getting the generator ready, and walking the property. The usual stuff --
Are they trying to outlaw or limit your generator yet? Or would upset the rich types as they might have to huddle with the peons?
If I’m not mistaken, CA has banned the sale of gasoline-powered generators, but I don’t remember for sure or when it goes into effect.
The ban on small engines for leaf blowers and lawn mowers went into effect this year. Generators are in 2028 and gas appliances in 2030.
Thanks, Paddy. My generator is small -- 2000W -- but it powers the refrigerator and a few appliances and that gets us through.
If Biden resigns today, that could make Harris the 47th POTUS. That would make the bioclbgtq+media folks happy.

Hi, Paddy. That was probably a smart thing to do. Ducks?
Yep. They lost 1-5 to the Canucks, but it was a lot less stressful than watching election results.

Stay safe, Sven -- both from the fire and the intersections.
The fire that started in Moorpark is now up to 9,000 acres. It’s called the Mountain Fire. Several homes burned.
According to CalFire, there’s one fixed-wing aircraft doing perimeter mapping, and one helicopter that’s attacking the portion of the fire that jumped towards Camarillo.
Looking at the map, there may be a lot of homes lost in Camarillo.
