Happy Hidden Caturday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven, and dv8 (and Harper!)!
It’s a chilly morning and I’ve got some chores to do. Both lawns need moaning and I’m trying to resurrect a sprinkler at the bottom of our slope. The work on that last one shouldn’t be that hard, but the climb down and back up are a different matter.
The lawn moaning went fine, but the sprinkler -- which had popped off the vertical pipe it was screwed into -- did not go so well. The metal pipe has a female-to-female coupler on it and it has corroded quite a bit since it was installed in 1971. The sprinkler head can’t get a good bite on the threads. I might be able to remove the coupler with a pair of pipe wrenches, some penetrating oil, and possibly a torch, but it would probably be easier to cut the incoming PVC pipe and wire a new vertical pipe to the existing one. That’s a task for another day.
Thread pic: Not holding in a cough, but rather a small kitten.
Happy Saturday, GN!
