When he ran and was elected in 2016, I think the best thing that could be said about Trump from those that voted and stuck by him through 2020 was that we tolerated him. Some respect, yeah, but mostly he was a remote personality with a lot of flaws that was better than the alternative. As he campaigned throughout the last two years, toleration morphed into admiration and greater respect as he faced attack after attack without ever backing down.
What I’m seeing now is that people have grown to love him. The left and the elites will always hate him out of reflex, fear, and habit, but the American people have, and probably more than a little grudgingly, come to see Trump as a man more like us than we could have thought.
A blessed Sabbath, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven!
Sven -- I think you’re right about how Americans have changed their view about Trump. In 2016 a lot of people voted for him because they didn’t want Hillary! in office. In 2024 people voted for him because they respect the man and his willingness to fight for the common man.
Good morning, GN.
I watched Trump and his entourage make their entrance to MSG last night for UFC 309. If you missed it, take a look: President-elect Donald Trump arrives at Madison Square Garden alongside Elon Musk #UFC309
And here’s the end of the main event: UFC 309: Jon Jones hits the ICONIC Donald Trump YMCA dance after defeating Stipe Miocic #UFC309 -- worth watching all the way through for Jones’ full comments -- there’s a lot of humility in that man.

Anyhow, that’s my take.

The salt rocks hard.
“Let it out….. Let it out…. “
Heh, heh, heh!
Worth the wait. Quite good.
