Happy New Year’s Eve, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven!
Sven -- I hope today goes better for you.
Mrs. Paddy and I left the decorating building at about 11:15 last night. The florists were still adding some touches and about 15 more feet of dendrobium orchid garland needed to be created and added to the bottom edge of the float. I had three crews working on the orchid garland, but the florists kept getting in the way and crushing the orchids as they reached to place flowers on the float. There was scaffolding up around some of the floats -- even though no one was working on the scaffolding -- so we really didn’t get that great view of the completed floats. Different company, different procedures. I think the float looks beautiful and the story behind it is very touching. I’ll share that later.

Thanks, Paddy -- we’ll look for it. Bet it’s beautiful.
Some good news -- the “major” wind event scheduled for tomorrow has disappeared so we ought to have power as we roll into 2025.
It’s 2025 somewheres -- good night, GN.
