Hi, Mac -- happy day everyone.

Thread pic: I bet the next time they won’t even notice.

Back to UCLA today -- we are hoping to get good information as to where Mrs Sven stands, but I’m not overly confident that we’ll get more than “it’s too early to tell” medical bullshit.

Much news lately about the failure of American education especially in math and reading. Is it perhaps possible that in today’s society, neither math nor reading are all that necessary in order to succeed?

Well, we got nothing. The genetic testing that we have been waiting on -- the stuff that will give us an indication of 5-year survival rates/metastasis -- were not completed/available. When will they be? Don’t know -- you have to check over here.

How’d the surgery/radiation go? A cursory exam says it looks OK -- more detailed exam in 2-3 months. Vision very bad -- well, that’s to be expected for the next “several” months. Anything else we should be doing? No.

We are not happy.

I am so sorry, my friend. That has got to be more than a little frustrating (as in Godzilla v. Tokyo frustrating). Please give Mrs. Sven a hug for me and let her know that both of you continue to be in our prayers.

Sure Happy It’s Thursday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Mac, and Sven!

Sven -- good luck today at UCLA. I hope you get good news and not medical double-talk.

Interesting question. I think the goal of public education has been to create a cadre of worker drones incapable of critical thinking and thus, easier to subjugate. The ability to read proficiently opens up vast worlds that the ruling class would rather you not see, lest you become unhappy with your government-given lot. The ability to calculate let’s you compare reality with the preferred narrative, e.g. “inflation is down” means the rate of upward change in prices is less than it was previously, but prices are still climbing, and not “all is well”.
