Good morning. We are holding up from these storms -- almost 6 inches of rain at our place over the last few days. Starting to clear out a bit and maybe a few showers throughout the rest of the day. Some more rain likely tomorrow, but doesn’t look like much.
Unfortunately, Mrs Sven took a long shower yesterday upstairs and I heard some strange noises from the downstairs bathroom. The water from her shower hadn’t drained properly and ended up in the bathtub. We’d had trouble some years ago with roots in the line to the septic tank and I figured that was it. Managed to get a guy out here this morning and a lot of roots that he wasn’t fully able to clear. Plus the septic tank is full. That’s a surprise. In the past, we’ve pumped every 3-4 years and and the solid side has never been more than 2/3 full. We’d pumped it out a little more than two years ago, so not sure what’s happened. Anyhow, we got a pumper coming out later today to empty it and then I can worry about if there’s a problem with the whole system.
Sorry to hear about your septic system issues. It sounds like you’ve been doing everything right as far as regular maintenance goes. I wonder what the difference was this year?
