Hi, Paddy -- that’s the big question, isn’t it? No idea. I think the serious military ops will finish before the end of the month, but how and to what extent the govt/regime changes is unknown or if there is a plan, no one is telling it.
Amazing to see the Iranians celebrating and thank America AND Israel both in Iran and around the world. When was the last time people actually thanked us for anything?
Mark Halperin had a show yesterday and one of the guest participants was an expat Iranian who had some good insights into the challenges facing Iran. The whole hour show is worth watching, but I queued the video up to this one point.
I went to Walmart early Saturday afternoon. The lady on checkout seemed quite cheerful and I asked how she was doing, as I normally do. She broke out in a huge smile and said “God bless President Trump!”. I was surprised but she said she was Iranian and was SO HAPPY to see that terrible man killed, he had killed so many people. I agreed of course and we chatted. I was thinking that her comment might have been dangerous in some areas, but was probably safe enough here. She was in her early 40s so the Muslim fanatics took over the Country a few years before she was born. As Sven mentioned it was nice to see so many people so happy with America. I am reminded of the old lady who was voting in Iraq, who said “God bless George Bush!”. I think I have that video somewhere. I will have to dig it out.
I’m still uncomfortable with this whole mission mostly because of what comes after, but I’ve also come to trust Trump and his people. It can still go way wrong, but I’m going to wait and see and even if does go poorly, I can’t fault his decisions. I wish Fatwa was around yet -- bet he’d love seeing this.
If I were China, I’d be thinking about taking Taiwan right now. I don’t think we can do two major conflicts at the same time anymore and most of our “allies” are meh.
My new dryer had a gas leak. My fault when installing the new gas line. Tore it apart, took my time, cleaned, thread gooped, retested, and it seems good to go. I’ll keep an eye on things.
I always test gas connections with a soap solution. I’ve had more than one connection that had to be redone, but none if I took my time and did everything properly.
Mrs Sven is down to her last month as a working woman. The time off from the medical carp has been good for her. Blood work, scan, MRI, and an oncology appointment afterwards mid-March, but that’s about it. Quite a change from what she’s gone through the previous 18+ months.
The eye is still trouble, Paddy, but it’s always going to be trouble. Something to live with, although I’m having hearing/ear problems -- right ear only -- and gun/jaw problems -- right side only. There’s a shared nerve pathway that is kinda connected to everything -- the trigeminal nerve -- that could be the root cause of everything, but I don’t know nor do I know if I want to spend a lot of time letting the medical profession figure it out. Something to ponder.

Happy Monday, GN.
Happy “Can’t Touch That” Monday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven!
The weather has thankfully cooled off.
How will the situation in Iran resolve itself, and how long will it take?

I’m glad things have been going better in the health department. How has your eye been?
