Was glad to see so many folks turn-up in Lansing, MI yesterday; their governor is sho’ ’nuff tone deaf.
I’m not one for conspiracy theories, but the longer this carp goes on, the more it seems to me that we’re being played big time. Very little of what we’re being told is coherent, even taking all of the chaos into account.
It feels (muh feelz!) like chaos -- and despair -- are the goal(s) of too many public figures of all stripes. And I’m still a hell of a lot angrier than frightened.
Sure Happy It’s Thursday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa, and Sven!
I’ve been plotting data on new cases of Winnie teh Flu in California and teh curve has definitely flattened. In fact, it appears that the curve started flattening two weeks ago and we’re now on a downward trend, as far as new cases go. It’s time to open up the economy.
Do. It. Now.
Lurved Mrs. Sven’s story. BIG finish! HUGE! And she had the ability to *say* something and not just gawp like a landed fish. Bra-fvcking-O.
Paddy,
I’ve been tracking the numbers in my county and state level both county and state seem to waffle between “transparency” and “obtuse”- so much sometimes I’ve had to triple-check my maths.
It looks like the virus came straight outta the port of Houston and right on up I45. Any exoduses from South Padre Island, Galveston, and Corpus probably didn’t help either.
And ‘den! According to today’s caterwauling, we’re the state to watch now.
Wheee!
Austin’s numbers are proportionate compared to Houston, but if /when Austin’s numbers go higher, it’ll be interesting to see what they do.
:: sigh ::
To paraphrase something I saw not too long ago: Orwell never considered that people would hand over information to the government freely.
In other news …
:: did I miss the 29th birthday? I thought it was today … I know he’s before me … ::
I don’t know, guys. Talking with Mrs Sven, she’s pretty sure things will never get back to normal and that the huge draconian boot of govt is already coming down on our necks.
Happy Thursday, Gerbils. Still alive and well. Slept in for a late night of work tonight. Don’t know how late it will be but, once again, I’m thankful to be working.
True, but 30 ain’t so bad so far. And since gender is a social construct, I figure I’m well within my human rights to be any age that I want to be.
Thanks, everyone, for teh bday wishes -- in celebration, we are having Sloppy Joes for dinner followed by a nice lemon meringue pie that Mrs Sven made.
Lepus lizards…it’s (double checks) Thursday, GN!

Also, China is asshoe.
BBL.
Happy Thursday, GN! BBL.

Where the heck did my day go? BIAB.
Well smack me upside the head with a catfish and call me a hush puppy! I’ve lost track!
Hi, Sven and Paddy!
I’d trust Paddy’s analysis over most “experts'”. (He’s Mr. Science Dude for a reason, n’est çe pas?)
From your mouth to Gerhardt Newsome’s ears. I’d like to see as many small businesses -- and jobs -- as possible saved
(Would also like to be able to schedule teh big job, which is predicated on folks going back to the office / school / what have you.)

One of the few politicians I respect: https://mcclintock.house.gov/newsroom/columns/the-unseen-death-toll-of-covid-19-measures
A good article that addresses many points that no one wants to talk about.
I agree. Good article.
Thanks for that one, Sven.
And he’s a DC politician to boot. Years ago before he moved up north, he was our rep. Used to come to our local gun club meetings.
Happy Thursday, Gerbils. Still alive and well. Slept in for a late night of work tonight. Don’t know how late it will be but, once again, I’m thankful to be working.
Hi dv8! I agree, work is a goodness!
Happy birthday x of 7, Sven (where x >= -1)
It’s been really hard to get a cake baked, so I had to take what was available.

Hai, TeX and dv8!
(Manners in dryer; my bad.)
