Happy Monday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa, and Sven!
It’s the first Monday of Summer and the marine layer is thick. I’m sure it will burn off by mid-day to reveal a gorgeous SoCal summer day. If only we were free to enjoy it as we wished.
well…. I put it off all weekend, but it’s time to go through my route notes to see if I can do the BIG ROUTE in a moar logical order.
Shuffling through paper notes and google maps is not what I enjoy.
On the techie front:
Still have no idea what I am doing. I tried teh new USB hub on my big machine. I got all the cameras--such as they are right now--to work. Except that I absolutely HAD to plug one camera in somewhere else. It absolutely WOULD NOT WORK plugged into the same hub as one of the other cameras. Neither of them ever saw the COEXIST bumper sticker, I guess.
Anyway, once I got past that minor hitch, which took two hours of investigation, everything was ok, So now, I can plug in whatever device I want. I should maybe get another hub like this, I dunno.
It is a lot of work to make live stuff, and I don’t know if there is any practical reason for it.
God seems to want me to play piano and have dreadlocks. I wish He would tell me why.
Fatwa -- please let the delightful BrendaK know that there is a second Yelp review of CHAZ that’s been posted. It’s not of the same quality as hers, but she may enjoy it.
California’s budget woes. I love this paragraph and pray that Trump tell us to pound sand.
“The deal still counts on the federal government passing a stimulus package for state and local governments in the coming months. California would use that money to restore half of the deferred education funding and reverse other cuts set to take effect July 1, including about half a billion dollars each for University of California and California State University systems, $150 million for the courts and more than $250 million for affordable housing programs.”
Meanwhile, south of the border, not that you ever hear about it on our American news networks.
1. 14 human remains covered in quicklime were discovered in Jalisco–Guanajuato border
2. Taxco Guerrero: State police ambushed; 8 dead, 3 severally wounded, 2 “taken” including a female officer
3. 18 Month AMLO Admin: Murders include 5,800 women and 1,800 minors, breaking all homocide records, not even close
In the first 18 months of the government of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, 53,628 people were murdered in Mexico, including more than 5,800 women and 1,800 children and adolescents. On average, almost 100 people are murdered every day in the current administration. It is the first year and a half of the most violent government so far this century.
This, I fear, is the direction our betters in this country are trying to take us.
Rueful Kitteh Monday greetin’s, GN!
Much to do this week to prepare for my SoCal journey.
Feh. I should be more excited…at least about the $$. But I ain’t feelin’ it.
Oh well, I’ll just lie back, close my eyes and think of Larryville.
BBL.
Happy first Monday of Summer, GN! Some music to start the week:
I love that slidey southern fried guitar style. Particularly when it’s done so artfully.
She’s quite good. The word that often comes to mind when I watch her play is “clean.” She’s not pretentious and clearly enjoys what she’s doing.
She’s French. As far as I can recall, France has never produced a rock band of note. She might be the first.
Well yeah… Surrender and Rock ‘n Roll don’t really go that well together.
Bwahahahaha. Oh sh¡t, that funny.
I don’t know if we’ll recognize you, Fatwa, with a mask on.
Happy Monday, Gerbil Nation!

The surliness and malodor remain the same. 🙂

Mysterious ways and all that. Best not to ask too many times.
