Finished our taxes last night -- getting hammered with the Trump limits on deductions for state/local taxes and mortgage interest, but that’s because we live in CA. It hurts us financially, but so it goes and we’ll learn to live with it.
Sven -- I’ve seen Fury -- a good movie, with much less of the gore-for-gore’s sake than you find in Saving Private Ryan. A good storyline and character development.
Thanks for the C.S. Lewis essay. There is a lot in it that extends to today’s times.
If the MSM started covering what was happening in Mexico, there would be an even greater push for a secure Southern border, and we can’t have that.
Taxes -- yeah, same here. Maybe if enough people don’t like that tax hit, they’d vote in people who would reduce taxes in California. Not that I think that will happen anytime soon.
So … is that Newsome’s vintage as his is the only winery allowed open?
Happy Friday, EveryGerbillyBody!
It’s hot, it’s dry, it’s breezy and we’re not under burn ban so fireworks are allowed. There may be a few fire calls this weekend. And for the first time, because of COVID, we actually *have* more than two firefighters in the area this weekend. Yay!
I, too, hope Fatwa is safe. I’d hate for Brenda to worry (or the rest of us).
Other than that, it’s just been another week. Had one interview this week -- I think being a medical scribe really would be a good fit. And if I read her face right, I may be one of the few people who actually studied some of the material they sent in an intro packet. We’ll see. And hope.

Watching the Mt. Rushmore-4th of July celebration. Seeing the President and First Lady on stage, why sure, Michelle Obama is sooooooooooooo much more attractive.
Happy Friday, GN!
Not much going on as CA hunkers down. Again. I did watch a very good WWII movie last night starring Brad Pitt. Fury.
Today, I guess, is mostly chores around the house.
I enjoyed that movie.
Hi, Mac! I hope you and Little Mouse are doing well!
I’ve also found this to be interesting, but I need to listen to it/read it a couple more times to get the full import.
Meanwhile, business as usual across our southern border: Gunmen kill 28 people inside rehab center in Irapuato, Guanajuato

You’d think a single incident like this would warrant fairly extensive MSM coverage, but you’d be wrong.

Happy Friday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven!

We are the perfect model for people deserving the govt we got and getting it good and hard.

Anyway.
Now … it’s time for lunch! BBL.

Lighting candles and looking for a virgin to sacrifice to help out with good job results, X.
Good luck on the job front, TeX!
Well, I wouldn’t want to do anything to tarnish your reputation, so be careful.
And ‘tanks!

I’m liking that Kristi Noem girl.
