Happy Thursday, GN! Sorry the comet viewing didn’t work out last night, Paddy -- it’s been hazy at night all week here too so I haven’t been able to see it either.
Yeah, California! We have now beat out New York with the most reported Chinese Flu cases in all of America! It’s them damn bars, hair salons, and churches.
Wow. The Sierra Club denounces John Muir? I guess Congress best get working on renaming the John Muir Trail or at the very least add signs every few miles adding BLM mantras and denouncing systemic racism.
you know, guys, even though I wasn’t on the wheel much, I always thought of you guys. I became very well acquainted with you all as a lurker back in the day. I used to read the threads sometimes and Harper used to pick out tidbits for me to read and/or read them to me. So that is why I feel like I knew you guys back in the day, even though i didn’t chat much there.
I still think very fondly of our “Fan Service” discussion. and the time we write our stories about our initial reactions to 911. I remember picking a strange avatar which make some people on the wheel think I was a black guy. And switching it to a rendering of “Death of Rats” drawn by my friend Linux Rob, who we could never coax onto the wheel but who you would all love.
There’s a lot of good memories on teh wheel, and I’m very thankful for Jerry keeping it going online and for Mac taking on thread duties every day. Last weekend, my BiL stopped by while I was on the phone with Fatwa. Mrs Sven explained that Fatwa was out here from Georgia and he wanted to know how I knew him, so she gave him the Cliff Notes version of SWMNBN and TSW. He looked her up while I was on the phone and I could hear him laughing. Later his judgement of Deb was “What a f**king whack job.”
Mrs Sven’s favorite memory from the good old days was the AutoMock. She thinks that was the greatest thing ever.
Possibly -- I think he’s using a different name on FB, but I may be mistaken. Mac would know better who is keeping up the database on SWMNBN’s activities.
I’ll tell you what I think a lot about these past few months, is Miss Emily and when she quit her church job in support of a falsely accused friend. That took a lot of guts.
I think I think on that because this year, more than any other in my memory, is a time to choose. Her example gives me the inspiration not to keep my mouth shut and for my actions, hopefully, to match my mouth.

Sounds like you are getting the big route down to a science, Dv8.

Sure Happy It’s Thursday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven!
The marine layer is pretty thick this morning, but it should be clearer tonight -- we’ll see.
Sven -- I notice nobody ever mentions mosques when they talk about places that can’t re-open. I wonder why that is?
Yes, the Muslim population has been strangely silent this year.

Have to rename the Muir Woods and Mt. Muir, as well.
BTW, what would a Bureau of Land Management mantra look like?
Ed Abbey has always been problematic for environmental groups, but definitely Earth First! has to denounce him.

From the day Harper introduced you to us, you’ve been a part of the family, like it or not!

It’s good to see that the original site still floats around the intertubes.

Does anyone hear from Sinner anymore?
