Sliding into Monday Panda-monium, eh?

dv8 --

Nice that you were able to spend time with a friend and enjoy a decent Mexican meal out.

Every few weeks, I make up a couple of pounds of taco meat so that CorporateToolK and I can -- assuming I ensure there are other fixin’s in the house -- add whatever we want and nuke a quick meal whenever. (Dining has been “on the fly” since she’s been working from home, as we’re often on different schedules.)

The past few months, I’ve been craving fajita veggies to add to tacos / burritos, so I’ve also been sautéing a large batch when I do the meat. This week, I tried oven-roasting them instead, which was a bit more work but they came out pretty well. Definitely worth the extra effort.

Got a loooong day of JimCo carp, including at least a first draft of a sneering GFY letter to an HOA we reroofed half of last year. Due to several developing situations there (which were caused by 40+ year-old construction defects we discovered somewhat dramatically), they’re being jerks…and I get to tell them so.

I don’t think we’re going to be the contractor reroofing the other half later this year; so it goes. I hate “passing” on a ~$250K job, but if I can’t beat some sense into them, it ain’t worth it to bid “Phase 2”.

BBL.

Happy Panda Monday (non trash variety), Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa!

Today is meeting Monday. I have a meeting from 8-10, 11-12, 12-1, and 1:30-2:30.

I’ll try to fit my other things to do in there somewhere.

Fatwa -- good luck with the letter.

Good morning, Fatwa, and Paddy! Happy start of teh week, GN!

Sheesh, Paddy, that’s a lot of meetings. Hope they are productive or that you can multi-task and get something meaningful done.

Echoing Paddy, good luck with teh letter, Fatwa. Sad that you may lose the job, but so it goes. I’m sure you guys got plenty more lined up without associated headaches.

No jury duty for me today -- just got to slide through 4 more days of it to fulfill my obligation as an upstanding citizen.

More wonderful management in support of outlandish policies in CA:

Following the Globe article Friday about the state draining reservoirs even with the dry year California is facing, we noted that California’s largest reservoirs less than two years ago were absolutely teeming with water from 107% to 145% of average. Water expert Kristi Diener said California’s reservoirs held enough water in 2019 for everyone who relies on them for their water supply, for 7 years.

This has to be the biggest pile of steaming bullshit that I’ve ever read coming out of the federal govt.: https://humanevents.com/2021/05/24/breaking-news-leaked-state-department-memo-indicates-official-support-for-blm-agenda/

Interesting that now it’s OK to speculate that the Chinese Flu came from a Chinese lab and not bats or coons. I wonder if this will lead to an uptick in Asian-American hate crimes?

The question that no one has the balls to ask yet is whether it was released accidentally or deliberately. And the follow up question to that one, regardless of which answer, is what is America and the world’s response going to be?

You can bet that if America had accidentally released a virus from a weapons or medical lab that killed millions and destroyed whole economies, that the whole world would be demanding reparations and we’d fall all over ourselves to see how fast we could pay them out. And the left in this country would be yelling louder than anyone.

Does that mean it’s okay to call it the Kung Flu? Or Chinese Lung Rot? Or Chinese Communist Bat Pox? Or the Chinese Pooh Flu?

Of course. Just not in California.

Well another day done. I’m tired. Had another dry eye/cornea incident Sunday morning around 3:00 -- scared the hell out of Mrs Sven. Quite painful. Sunday was a blur, but today I could see well enough to work and physically, my right eye feels OK. I need to make an appointment with my ophthalmologist. So early to bed for me.

Dv8 -- don’t be so hard on yourself. Glad you got out with a friend for a meal -- plan another one. You got friends here, but virtual is so much different than RL.

OK, I’m done. Rest well, friends, and prepare for tomorrow’s fresh hell courtesy of our former countrymen that reside on the left and stupid side of smarts, morals, and politics. I really hope that teh bestest place ever lets the one year anniversary of the death of a stupid criminal go by without comment.
