While I doubt there’s actually such a thing as “racial memory”, I think I may haz it anyway based on my “gut feelz” about the growing security state and being one of teh “unclean” people. (Y’know who else was classified as unclean during the ’30s -- and other eras -- in Europe?)
As re the Afghanistan debacle, I’m having a difficult time processing what a brobdingnagian clusterfark it is. Especially as the news just keeps getting worse.
Not that there’s ever a good time for America to be friendless in this world, but this seems like a particularly inopportune and dangerous era for that.
“You’re gonna need a bigger facepalm.”
Apparently my long-term disgust and distrust of our gummint hasn’t been anywhere near sufficiently cynical. Oopsie-doodles!
But hey…the senescent and/or commie “adults” are in charge in America so at least there are no mean Tweets, amirite?
I have very little German upon me but did you say Happy Jewish Virus Friday? ✡ I’ve never thought of you as a virus, Sir. What do I get with this? A craving for Trader Joe’s chocolate croissants on Saturdays and a tenancy to shudder when confronted with cabbage rose fabric?
You did translate that correctly. (Obviously, I was riffing off of Mac’s thread pic and the various notions for dealing with folks who decline to get The Jab.)
And there is sort of a DHD precedent for that in that we were all characterized as STD’s per a certain demented PhUD back in the ancient days
What do I get with this?

Symptoms may include hoarding of gold and/or diamonds, destroying economies, making unleavened bread with the blood of non-Jewish babies, poisoning water supplies and deicide. These may lead to serious injury or death.
Okay. I have a story… but it will have to wait until I’m awake. I just got back from a long long shift and I’m just settling down to sleep after checking in here.
I’m awake finally so I’m spending this morning reading The Wheel starting with last Saturday. Of course, David had already apprised me of the safe return of Rabbit -- and there was much rejoicing in the house! That was a happy, nay, a jubilant day!
I just finished reading about Gentle Mac and Elena having lunch with Titan and of the success of the shop and of their dreams. I wonder if Titan keeps a copy of Shakespeare’s Works in the lunchroom? MANUAL MACHINING BEAST, INDEED!!
I’m sure I’ll be back around later if I can stay awake.
Brenda just came up for air (as well as a bacon & ‘mater sammich) and sends her love.
======================
We had a rather large quantity of thick-cut bacon which needed to be cooked by Sunday. Tried baking it -- which I’ve never done before -- as I couldn’t see frying it four-five rashers at a time.
O.M.G. I will never fry bacon again.
Baking’s easy, too: place parchment paper on baking sheet(s) and apply bacon. Bake at 400ºF; check after 18 minutes and continue baking until desired doneness is achieved. Remove from oven, place on paper towels; blot as needed.
I’m gonna have a big ol’ bacon and sharp cheddar burger tonight.
It’s actually a pretty even-handed documentary, given the subject and who the reporter works for (Vice). Even the ATF agent he interviewed was reasonable.
Rabbit -- I’m just reading your first post back. It’s so good to see you again. You were sorely missed. I’m familiar with MDAnderson and it’s an amazing place. One of the very best. I wish him all best. I’m sorry for your loss of Sis and I hope BW has learned her lesson and won’t be quite so stubborn in the future. Please tell her that even I haven’t had to have my bowels explode to learn to not be so stubborn, that’s EPIC!
And how are you, my friend?

The idea being that if everyone did it, there would be too many infidel targets for the islamonutjobs to kill any of them. Kind of a herd immunity idea.
Sven, that’s a brilliant idea, the one you spoke of last Wednesday about posting something offensive and crashing woke and politically correct speech standards.
The other day at teh bestest place ever, our department had a department meeting -- we only do those every couple of months or so -- and they took questions at the end. One guy asked if we had any plans for opening our own manufacturing sites here in America or for buying more American made products. The short answer was no, but it got me thinking…
This company added over 500 new SKUs last year and plans to add close to 1000 this year. Product prices vary from $1 to $4,000. I get why they buy from overseas. To their credit, they have been trying to source more products away from China, but only to other Asian countries.
At the same time, there are still some things that can be made in America -- why don’t we look at loss-leader products on the low end and slap that made in America label on them? Don’t know, but instead of looking at the final product idea and working backwards to the component level and saying it can’t be done cost effectively here, why not look at the component level -- parts and materials that are available here -- and try to develop a saleable product from the bottom up? I’m not explaining this very clearly, but I’m still mulling it over.
That sounds like a great approach. Look at what components are cost-effectively sourced in America and what kind of products those components go into, then sell those products.

Evening Greetings!
Dv8 asked where the Good Niece’s car was attacked. It was in Fort Worth. She heard from the insurance company. It is going to take 2 weeks to fix the car & she won’t get a rental car. ( I don’t know why BW thought that she would)
SBH! I cracked up BW by reading her your comment on her exploding bowels. I think we will be hear that phrase around the Rabbit Hutch for awhile…
I gotta hop out,
I’ll be back when I can stay longer.
Fröhlichen Jüdisch Virus Freitag, GN!

Well…I can make cookies without leavening. Ok. I’ll take it since I can’t have teh jab. I like gold and jewels, too.
.
Good morning, Fatwa -- happy Friday, GN. A very appropriate thread pic, Mac.
Hi, Sven!

Okay. I have a story… but it will have to wait until I’m awake. I just got back from a long long shift and I’m just settling down to sleep after checking in here.
Rest well everyone. Especially me.
Please do, sir.
He is right beside me sleeping the sleep of the righteous and the exhausted.
🙂
Good Morning, GN!
Teh Happy SQuEaK!!

Oh, dear me, manners, dryer…
Good morning, Sven, Fatwa. I trust you have a satisfactory day planned today.
It’s okay; the lint screen in Brenda’s Dryer is clean. 🙂
What would we do without dear Brenda. Please send her my warmest regards.
Consider it done as soon as she’s finished unsnarling her current work-related SNAFU. (I know better than to interrupt coding-in-progress.)

But ghost guns are bad. Evil.
Boooooooo…booga booga booga!

Thanks, Miss Harper -- now if only it could be implemented.
That’s most days ending in “Y” for me. 👿
Happy Friday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa, Sven, dv8, and Harper!
I needed to take a day off this month, or lose it, so today is it. I slept in, even!
A lot of good comments on Teh Wheel this morning!
Good on you, Paddy.
Teh yay for sleeping in!
Hmmmm. It’s almost like the band is getting back together with Rabbit and all these comments.
Wonderful to see you Miss Harper.

Hi RabBit!
Exploding Bowels? I saw them open for Urinary Tract Infection at the Paladium in ’85.
