I have a story or two for you, but it’ll have to wait for later.

Good morning, and Good night, Gerbil Nation.

Fatwa Arbuckle: Misanthropologist

Happy Cruel Pet Parent Monday, GN!

G’mornin’ / g’night, dv8.

Sven --

Cheers for your Eyeball Update yesterday; may things continue on a positive trajectory.

SackO’SugarK and FTR went to see “Dune” last night; the capsule review I just got was “meh”.

I got nothin’ else right now; BBL.

SVEN: Sounds like good news overall on the eyeball front.

We’ve been praying for you.

Good morning/night, dv8 (and Harper!), Fatwa, and Sven!

Sven -- that sounds like great news regarding your eye!

Fatwa -- thanks for the capsule review of Dune.

I am still reading the Divine Comedy -- up to Canto 21 now, and Virgil and Dante are still in hell. They travel from one circle and pit to another, bear witness to the horrific tortures that the souls are subjected to, speak with some of the damned -- some of whom are Dante’s contemporaries -- and move on to the next. The question that I have is this: what is the purpose of damnation? These are all sinners of one form or another, and each circle of hell and punishment is designated for a particular sin, but their damnation is eternal and that’s a pretty long time. To what end? Is it a lesson to the living, a warning? If you are a flatterer then it’s the Eighth Circle for you and you’ll struggle in a pool of shit forever?

In hell, redemption isn’t possible -- no rehabilitation, just punishment and to what end? I don’t know if Dante has an answer.

The main part of the storm has arrived -- good amount of hard, steady rain.

Good evening. Another week begins for all of us.

I have stories, as I said, but I’m short on time this evening. Maybe if I get a lull while at work I can tell one tonight.

Mrs Sven came across this opera singer/voice coach and we listened to her critique of Queensryche’s Eyes of a Stranger. Quite interesting and she’s so darn perky. It might not be your cup of tea, musically, but even if you aren’t a fan of the band her take on Tate’s voice is entertaining and she’s go plenty of other songs and singing tips on her youtube channel.
