And Festivus greetin’s, too; let the airing of the grievances commence.
Nice to see Jerry checked-in yesterday.
Hope Paddy made it safely in and out of Trader Joe’s, which would have been less crazy yesterday than they’ll be tomorrow. (I’ve manged to plan things so I could completely avoid Waddlemart this week.)
Glad Sven’s back is better.
Please stop checking the storm forecasts — every time you do you make it worse. Thanks.
Checked the weather earlier this morning and…sorry, man.
Got an email yesterday from a property manager who’d just been informed of a leak which a homeowner observed eight days ago but waited more than a week to report. I told her that homeowner’s basically SOL; her response was a professional version of “sucks to be him“.
I’m sure I’ll have many customer grievances to air today; yay!

Good morning, Fatwa -- teh rain is here, light rain right now, but steady. The bigger stuff is supposed to hit in a few hours.
The battery in Mrs Sven’s Jeep died last night while she was out shopping. I jump started it with a little GooLoo lithium jump box -very cool device and much easier to use than jumper cables.
Sure Happy It’s Thursday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa, and Sven!
Fatwa -- happy Festivus! Air those grievances! Glad the property manager had a realistic view of things.
Trader Joe’s wasn’t bad yesterday. The cashier told me I just missed the early morning rush.
Teh Younger arrived on time, with no issues other than a lack of sleep. We had a last minute change in dinner plans, so we ended up making a chicken and leek pie (actually four individual pies). It was our first attempt and I think it turned out rather good. We were trying to recreate a dish we’d had at an Irish pub in Florida.
Sven -- glad to hear the battery pack worked so well. Hopefully it’s just a bad battery.
Garbage pickup day -- they come around twice, one truck for each type of container. Ran out at 7:00 this morning in the light rain to give a card and gift to the first driver; now waiting on the second to come by and it’s raining heavy now.
Good on you, Sven!
We have three trucks that come by -- green waste (will include all food waste on Jan. 1), recyclables, and trash. The green waste gets picked up by 7 a.m. and the recyclables by 5 p.m. Trash is sometime in the middle.
It’s a slow work day -- nobody wants to do anything and that includes me. I’m in my usual work quandary about trying to buck mgmt and do things right or just collect a pay check and do what I’m told. Following orders is winning today.
1.25 inches of rain so far. There must be a formula: X number of inches rain causes Y number of roof leaks.
Interesting. I wonder if this signals a change in holding LEOs responsible for their actions, or if this is limited to actions taken against POC in Blue regions?
Up to almost 2 inches today with rain falling all night and into tomorrow. Looks like several more days of cold, rainy, and windy weather ahead -- unusual for us -- but will generate some $ for Fatwa I imagine.
New battery in Mrs Sven’s car -- they ran a bunch more diagnostics on it but didn’t find anything else wrong. I could have gone cheaper and just threw in a new battery myself, but, you know.
Glad it was only a battery. Chasing problems by replacing parts is a good way to spend a lot of money. Better to spend some time and money diagnosing the issue. Glad you’ve got a shop that you can trust.
We’ve only had about 0.4 inches of rain today -- slow and steady. The good thing is that it’s soaking in, not running off into the ocean.
The Replacements is just one of those movies that whenever it comes on, I find myself watching it. If you’ve never seen it, it’s a comedy about a team of replacement football players during a football strike. A great scene:
Yippee-ki-yay Gerbil Nation! (Excellent thread pic, Mac.)

If you are looking for a last minute gift, Amazon has it on sale for $70 with one-day delivery. https://www.amazon.com/GOOLOO-Starter-SuperSafe-Lithium-Portable/dp/B09FP4P6BR?ref_=ast_sto_dp
Hai, Sven!
One of my Twitter mutuals also recommended that jump box a couple of days ago; thanks for the link.
Hope whatever’s going on with Mrs. Sven’s Jeep is easily / cheaply fixable.
My guess is a bad battery -- it is almost 6 years old. It’s at the garage and I trust these guys, so letting them go through it.

Hi, Paddy -- out here they alternate recyclable and green every week. They used to pick up all three weekly, but so it goes.
OK, done. Quite wet out.

The jury in the taser/gun shooting of Daunte Wright has reached some type of conclusion -- appears to be likely a hung jury.
Guilty of manslaughter and guilty on other charges.
