It appears the U.S. trucker convoy hasn’t got much momentum as of this morning, which is probably a good thing for many of the reasons Sven pointed-out yesterday. Especially the “too little, too late” aspect.
Oh, and BOO KITTY IS A LIER!
It’s reassuring that on our ever-changing, fast-paced, madcap modern world, some things remain a constant. 🙂
I’m looking forward to the “gaffe reel” of tonight’s SOTU; wonder if Nancita is planning any puerile on-camera shenanigans or nah…
Sure wish I had a better sense of what’s actually happening in Ukraine; I’m still assuming that any reports I see are someone’s propaganda.

Nice to see when musicians improvise, adapt and overcome (although this might be a bit noisy):

I really hope that dog in teh thread pic isn’t, you know, dead.
Mrs Sven spent some time with Frank yesterday evening -- I’ll go over today at lunch. He didn’t wake up while she was there.
I was busily typing away yesterday to justify my paycheck from teh bestest place ever when a crown on one of my molars popped off. Luckily, I didn’t swallow the damn thing and more luckily my dentist was able to fit me in. Not much fun tho.
To avoid WWIII, if a nuke goes off somewhere I wonder if the MSM would go full covid and question if it came from the most likely source, Russia? No, no, no, the experts say the most likely source is a high school student’s science project gone awry.
Happy Chill-puppeh Tuesday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa, and Sven!
I’ve known a few dogs with thick coats that loved to lay in the snow. It always makes me wonder if they are absolutely miserable during the summer.
I read an article this morning about a U.S. couple that were in Ukraine for the surrogate birth of their child. They were still in the hospital when the bombing started. The US Embassy was closed and of very little help. It took the help of a couple of congressmen to get them across the Polish border.
I’ve been reading Solzhenitsyn’s Warning to the West and came across this paragraph:
I must say that the United States, of all the countries of the West, is the
least guilty and has done the most in order to prevent it. The United States
has helped Europe to win the First and the Second World Wars. It twice
raised Europe from postwar destruction—twice—for ten, twenty, thirty
years it has stood as a shield protecting Europe while European countries
counted their nickels to avoid paying for their armies (better yet, to have
none at all), to avoid paying for armaments, thinking about how to leave
NATO, knowing that in any case America will protect them. These
countries started it all, despite their thousand-year-old civilization and
culture, even though they are closer to the danger and should have seen it
more clearly.
That’s from a speech he gave in 1975. Seems like it took more than 40 years before an American president called Europe out on them not paying their fair share for their own defense.
He and Yuri have been warning us for over 40 years. No one listening.
I have been saying for over 40 years, that we have to respond to marxist evil faster than 40 years. Ignoring a problem doesn’t make it go away.
I have always cautioned conservatives who talk about marxism in the universities like it’s some kind of joke. they always say: “… then these kids get out into the real world, and they find out…”
Fxck.
Don’t they realize that these kids enter corporations and Personnel departments (now marxified into “human resources”) and bring all those unchallenged, toxic, marxist assumptions with them into everything they do.
Makes you admire the ones who are resistant to it. But you have to realize that everyone has been infused with marxist assumptions to one degree or another. Unless you’re constantly vigilant and a real student of history, it’s very hard for even a staunch conservative, libertarian, or any other anti marxist to divest yourself of these influences.
Back to hospice which means I’ll miss out on Brandon’s speech -- will expect updates out of you guys.
I was there at lunch -- quite a difference from Sunday as Mrs Sven noted last night -- the staff says maybe another day or two. I’ve noticed the same thing again -- the difference between men and women in situations like this. Men are mostly useless -- we want to do something, fix things. Women are more in the moment and content to be there.
We stand with our fellow Ukrainian-Americans. Putin may capture Keev, but he’ll never dampen the spirits of freedom loving people here in America. We’ll release oil from our strategic reserves to show Putin we mean business.
The drugs he’s taking dilate his pupils and he’s squinting. Harris and Pelosi behind him are in the same light and they aren’t squinting.
Here’s his plan to cut inflation:
Cut the price of prescription drugs
Investment tax credits for clean energy
Subsidize electric vehicles
Cut the cost of childcare
Home long-term healthcare
More affordable housing
Pre-k for all
Make corporations and the wealthy pay their fair share of taxes.
I’ve made a deal with Pfizer to buy lot’s of their new anti-viral pills. We’re setting up a system so that you can go to the drugstore, get a test, and if you’re positive, you can get the Pfizer pills right then, at no cost.
Most Americans can remove their masks and remain in the classroom. But this is costly. I’ll come back to Congress for more funding. We’ll vaccinate the world. You can’t build a wall high enough to stop a…a… vaccine.
The gun industry is the only industry in the world that can’t be sued.

Ban ghost guns that you can buy online and assemble at home.
Brings up Beau Biden, living in a hooch in Afghanistan.
He talks about burn pits the size of football fields that are causing cancer among our veterans.
Abominable Snowpuppeh greetin’s, GN!

They are literally EVERYWHERE.
SOTU: I’ll just watch the cringe compilations.

Biden declares the brave move that the US will close US airspace to Russian aircraft.
We will defend Ukraine, but we won’t commit US forces, but if Russia dares to move into NATO territory, then, by gum, we’ll defend NATO.

I’m going to use your tax dollars to buy your votes.
Intel will be building a plant in the midwest where the average salary will be $135,000 per year.
Sure they will.
It’s time to bury the term “Rust Belt”. It’s time to…it’s time to…the term Rust Belt needs to change.
The solution to inflation is for companies to lower their costs.

By the end of this year, the deficit will be less than half of what it was when he took office.

I’m sure the Pfizer execs are happy.

We need to secure our borders.
Provide a pathway to citizenship for DREAMERS, and farmworkers, and essential workers, and…

He talks about burn pits the size of football fields that are causing cancer among our veterans.
He’s going to end cancer as we know it. Unfortunately, Nancy Pelosi lost her place in the speech.
He wants to fund a new agency -- ARPAH (like DARPA, but for healthcare) -- that will have a singular focus: three things.
Angry Joe has shown up. It must be near the end of the speech.
God bless America and may God bless our Troops! Thank you! Go get him!
I’m not sure who “him” is.
The prediction was for 75 minutes -- he didn’t make it. I guess the pharmaceuticals aren’t as good as they had hoped.
I need a drink. And a shower. And maybe some Holy water.
Yeoman’s work, Paddy -- thank you.
I get the feeling that AMERICA IS BACK BABY! THE ADULTS ARE BACK IN CHARGE!
As someone commented, it was the speech you’d give if everything was going well.
