Wow. Still on TOR. Haven’t been able to get the wheel except on TOR or on my phone for over a week. Maybe I should start running my own DNS. I probably should, really.
I see Harper has been very active while I have been mostly asleep, as per usual. Fun seems to have been had by all.
I think my whole shift verged on 15 hours last evening/this morning. I just got home.
I answered the question re the eMail about the meeting. Not unlike the proposed tachyons involved in quantum entanglement, I’m not sure my answer carries any information
Thank you to all who took the time to respond to the question I posed yesterday. Most people I’ve shared it with understood that a request for help was, if not explicit, at least implied and that a response was due. I’ve only encountered three that felt it was information only, with no response necessary.
Unfortunately, one of those is my boss, to whom the message was directed. She and her boss (the Principal) both feel that since there was no explicit question directed to a specific person, that there was no request for assistance and it was informational only. Which also means they both feel that the person who sent the email failed to ask for help when she needed it. I don’t understand that, which is why I’ve been asking other’s their opinion, thinking maybe I’m the one with the communication issue.
Both my Principal and Asst. Principal would fail Mac’s class in proper management.
I never had much experience with corporate culture, I mostly tried to develop and keep good employees and managers, and create conditions to aid in that. I always felt uncomfortable with “office politics”, though some interaction was needed for protection.
Sadly, I saw too much of this. Too many managers came out of accounting or administration, and had little clue about people. Also, like machining, management tends to attract the wrong kind of people. Too many self centered jerks. Three of the harder lessons to teach new manager trainees was that they had to work harder than their employees, there were no excuses for manager’s failures, and that while employees have a right to be angry and show it, a manager does not. The power they have over employees jobs and lives means they give that basic right up. I have read about the frustration concealed carry holders felt because they had to ignore and walk away from insults to them or their wives that they would have gotten into fights over if not armed. That power requires restraint.
Yay…Friday!
Y’all were a chatty bunch yesterday; gotta go back and read Thursday’s thread when I’ve got some time later.
I’d’ve warn a tricorn Haman hat for Purim yesterday, but folks around here would have just thought I was an out-of-date Tea Partier. 🙂
(Too bad sausage gravy hamantaschen aren’t a thing…)
BBL.
Happy Friday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa!
If you change up the dough a bit, you might be on to something. Except for the whole kosher aspect, of course. It would be something like fatayer.
Our Gentle Harper said,
“And I thought, as Gentle Mac knows the sound of every metal in the land,”
I don’t think that was what they meant when they said I had a “tin ear”.
Well played, Sir!
So would an acorn cap help protect from a Cluricaune?
a fair question, sir.
Or a Keek Stane?

Good morning, dv8! I hope you slept well.
As someone who is non-neurotypical, I would appreciate your view on the question I posed yesterday. If you don’t mind, of course.
Thanks for your response. I do appreciate it!
I did weigh in although as per below, I’m not sure how useful my response is.
I appreciate it, dv8. All responses are useful as we all have different communication styles.
Big route done, Mail took forever and ever.

It sounds like tachyon might just be another name for Cluricaune.
Either one could potentially be magically delicious….

That’s exactly the part that is missing in too many organizations.

Good morning, everyone -- there’s several words in today’s thread that I’m going to have to look up.
Now, I feel too awake to go to sleep. But I probably should soon.
I’m going to eat something and go to sleep. See you all later.
Rest well, my friend.
Thanks for stopping in. Rest well.
