The cutest darn things, those squirrels. I think that’s the first squirrel thread pic that didn’t have the squirrels holding swords, light sabers, guns, wearing helmets, or screaming profanity. A nice change of pace -- thanks, Mac!

Good morning, GN -- prayers and good thoughts for Fatwa and Brenda.

SCOTUS watch again today.

And once again rulings on the big cases are not released. That means threats and intimidation against Justices can continue for both 2A and abortion cases.

Squirrely Wednesday already?!?

Hi, Sven!

…prayers and good thoughts for Fatwa and Brenda.

Very much appreciated; thank you!

SackO’SugarK had a reasonably “okay” day yesterday (for which I haz gratitude); we’ll see what today brings.

Latest HH-A missive emailed yesterday; hope the wee veiled threat therein pisses them off.

They’re now trying to accuse us of a leak which doesn’t exist; both we and they have photo documentation from JimCo in 2019 and earlier this year strongly supporting our position this leak occurred well before JimCo did any work on the property.

Additionally, their case was being handled by a partner at their law firm; we found out last week it’s been handed over to the JV team (who need “at least a week” to get up to speed).

This suggests to me opposing counsel may realize HH-A has a nag of a case; who the fark knows?

So yah. Fk the mail machine. I get done so much faster doing it by hand, that I wish I’d started doing that months ago.

Happy Sleeping Squirrel Wednesday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven, Fatwa, and dv8 (and Harper!)!

Fatwa -- I’m glad Brenda is doing better today. Continued prayers for the both of you. I wonder if the partner at that law firm had a good story for why he was leaving someone else to hold the bag o’dung that is HH-A HOA’s case?

Sven -- I guess Roberts is still hoping to pick off a vote or two. Spineless carp-weasel that he is.

dv8 -- at least you won’t have to fight with the mail machine anymore.

Good post. https://adaptivecurmudgeon.com/2022/06/13/unwilling-to-define-schrodingers-cat-in-the-bidenverse/

Those of us who never drank the Kool-aid have also changed. We’re less motivated to try talking the crowd out of their latest faceplant. We shrug and continue doing what we do… independently. “If they haven’t figured it out by now, it’s not our problem.”

I feel like that. Don’t you? After COVID and the 2020 election, I’m more willing to let people experience the fruits of their decisions. Some folks learn from history, but others must piss on the electric fence. Who am I to rob them of the experience?

Karen now has to choose between baby formula that doesn’t exist and $6 gas to get to a job that doesn’t matter but the boss desperately wants her to commute. I don’t care. I no longer wish to talk her out of her next dumb idea. Take on massive debt for an EV car? Sure. A degree in advanced pointlessness? Fine. Fifteen boosters, an all yoghurt diet, and some pyramid crystals you bought online? Sure. Get a face tattoo while you’re at it; it’ll be fun! I feel freed of what formerly was a kind of responsibility. The Gods of the Copybook Headings will sort everything out.

Well, yeah. Some folks learn from history. Some get myocarditus. But some are stuck between a gulag and an archipelago. Most of us are relatively powerless. But there is strength in numbers.

We are marginally freer, and that includes being freer from state control, because so many of us own guns. It’s not that the state is afraid of us, exactly, but the possibility of us resisting tyranny makes imposing tyranny much more expensive. And as Rand, and Marx, for that matter, both pointed out: What can be done, or done to you,.. well, it all comes down to economics.

I do find some solace in the fact that reality exists. Or, to put it another way: Existence exists. There is nothing so frustrating to those in power than reality pushing back on fantasy.

I pasted a link to the thread pic, which I cannot see, into Brave, Yes. That was cute.
