Fatwa Arbuckle: Misanthropologist

Thursday “howdy”, GN!

Brenda update: “Better than yesterday.”

Sorry to read about Paddy’s latest work travails and Sven’s connectivity problems (which are both outside of my meager areas of expertise, so no helpful advice to offer).

Continued “radio silence” from HH-A’s shysters. A 2-month-plus delay for scheduling mediation (which will fail, as they’ve been informed) would not seem to help their side, but I’m not a lawbaw. My best guess is they’re trying to buy time to conjure some more lies.

Wonder if their recent behavior is “abuse of process” under CA law…

Good morning, Fatwa -- hope Brenda keeps moving in that direction.

Sure Happy It’s Thursday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa, and Sven!

Fatwa -- I’m glad Brenda is moving in the right direction. I wish the same were true of the HH-A situation.

Sven -- have you noticed any difference with your new eye drops?

Hi, Paddy. It was a nasal spray that I tired. It’s actually effective at increasing tear production, but my insurance won’t cover it and get this; it’s around $600 for a month’s supply. There’s another neurostimulator option out there -- a mechanical device -- iTear100. It’s basically a vibrator that you place next to your nose for a few minutes each day. How do they make money on it? The device seems to sell for around $300, but then it’s only good for 30 days. After a month, it shuts off and you have to pay for another prescription to get it turned on again. Clever.

I’m actually doing marginally better after getting the new punctal plugs put in to keep my tears from draining during the night.

That’s some racket they’ve got going on. Have you checked with any of the discount prescription programs to see if you can get that nasal spray at a reasonable cost?

The manufacturer offers some programs, but trying to get details hasn’t been the easiest thing. Regardless, it’s not a long term solution especially if I get on a fixed income in a few years.

Have you checked the lint trap in Brenda’s dryer?

Her lint trap must be getting full -- I think the last 20 years of my life are in there as well.

I can assure you there’s nothing -- not even significant lint -- in the dryer. I’m quite OCD about cleaning the lint trap. (And snaking out the ducting periodically, too.)

good man!

Hai, Sven, Paddy, dv8 (and Harper!!1!)!

BK’s got another “heavy duty” chemo tomorrow, so -- based upon experience -- Sunday-Tuesday are gonna probably be carpy.

Just got back from grocery shopping. Moar price increases; D.C. really needs to be burnt to the fooking ground.

It’s not getting much coverage here, but Dutch farmers are hopping mad over new rules about fertilizer. Among other things, they’ve sprayed gummint buildings with pig shit and blocked highways, borders and airports with tractors.

Sad to see that my prediction on Newsom running in 2024 seems to be gaining traction. No matter who runs on the other side, Newsom is going to be a dangerous opponent.

Re 2024, a politician has to be, and/or generally is, a sociopathic opportunist. As one famous pollster once said, Regardless of their ideology or party, “These people are NOT normal.”

But are they ever “not normal” in a good way?

I can’t remember the guy’s name, but he said that also. Some are good, some are bad, but none of them are normal.

Back from the market -- a friend is going through chemo for pancreatic cancer -- going to make her and her husband a baked mostaccioli. The market was much nicer today than the last time I was there.

Sorry to hear about your friend.

It is indeed, Dv8. My circle of friends and family has shrunk considerably this year.

at this point, I feel like the proverbial “other shoe” is hanging by a microthread.
