I wrote too soon about my eyes -- after almost three weeks of no problems, the last three nights have been bad. That will teach me to trumpet my good news on teh wheel.
I read the hoopla about the big puppet, Little Amal, that is going to save the planet. My vision being what it is right now, I read it as Little “Anal” and was confused for a time as to what it was promoting.
Happy first Caturday of October, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven, and Fatwa!
Sven -- I’m sorry your eyes are still giving you problems. I was hoping this latest med would do the trick.
Fatwa -- I’m glad you and BK are able to breathe this weekend. You both need it.
Mrs. Paddy and I got home last night, had a late dinner, then went straight to bed. The conference was amazing and uplifting and we came away with tools we can use in our respective churches. Fatwa would have been impressed by some of their sound technology. The instrumentalists in their contemporary worship services use earpieces along with an iPad. The iPad lets them drag and drop the other instruments anywhere in space in relation to them, as well as adjust the mix in their earpieces. The house speakers are also digitally directable.
When I picked up our rental car, the car informed me that the front passenger tire had 11 psi of pressure. I went back inside to the counter and they took the car away to fill up the tire. I should have asked for a different car. I had to fill that tire three times a day. The worst was in the morning, when it was down to 8 psi and I had to drive a mile to the nearest gas station. I called up their roadside assistance number and their response was that I should drive back to the airport (45 minutes) and exchange the car (then drive another 45 minutes back). Did I mention the car had no spare?
Glad it was worthwhile trip, Paddy, and that you got home safely. I’m surprised, not at the lack of diligence by the rental company, but that you were able to still drive it with the tire pressure that low. And no spare? WTF?
I made sure to take corners very, very slowly. Fortunately, that was only first thing in the morning. Every other time, the pressure was in the 16-20 psi range.
Yeah, I couldn’t believe there was no spare, either.
Have rates on rental cars come down any? We rented a car for one day last year to get my BiL home from Stockton -- I don’t remember the cost except it was outrageous.
Huh. October? Well this year slipped away.
Happy Saturday, GN.
There are only thirty candy shopping days left until Halloween.
Hai, Sven!
Lazy day here at CasaK, which iz nice.
Haven’t really had one in about six months where we could just stop and take a breath. (And are very grateful we have the opportunity to do so.)

Brenda has already nixed this fiscally prudent idea:

Off to catch up on my email and earlier threads.

Prices are over $100 per day for a sub-compact, base rate. It’s down a bit from peak covid pricing, but still outrageous.
Back on TOR.
Last Thursday night ended up being 16 hours almost, owing to a variety of mishaps.
To Paddy the Last car I ever rented was a:
Yeah, this wasn’t a Bitchin’ Camaro, more like a Fsckin’ Spark.
