Good morning, GN. Hope Elena made it home safely and enjoyed her time away. Hope Dv8 got some good rest and Miss Harper is doing well. Hope all is well down at Paddy’s.
Thank you. Elena got in last night. She spent the night with her sister as it was too late for someone to be driving her out here, and she wants to be there for a home showing in about three hours, so I will see her later.
Paddy, yes indeed, it has been fun with the cats. They will probably be here until Monday or Tuesday. I have seen the shy one a few times when things were quiet. The other is my shadow. Several times she has put her head on my hand and fallen asleep purring. Hard to resist. She is on watch in the window behind my chair as I write.
Mrs. Paddy and I have had both a bird feeder and hummingbird feeder in our backyard for a long, long time. We dealt with the problem of rats getting into the feeder by bringing it in every night. Now we have a new problem -- band-tailed pigeons, which are a native species and slightly larger than your typical urban pigeon. A couple of them showed up about two years ago. No big deal. They weren’t at the feeder every day and never for long. Just opening up the patio door causes them to fly away. Last year, that pair turned into four, then six, then eight. This year, we consistently have at least 15, with upwards of 20 at times. They come every day and suck the feeder dry, leaving only a small amount of debris for the other birds.
Mrs. Paddy and I will be gone for a week at the end of the month, so we thought we’d stop putting the feeder out the week before. Hopefully in two weeks time the pigeons will have found somewhere else to get a meal. We know the other birds will return within a week.
I need to call an exterminator. I’ve gone over and over the house looking for weak spots or entryways, can’t find any, and have killed maybe a dozen mice in the garage and attic in the last two weeks. Plus still working on the automobile-engine compartment with them rodents.

A blessed Sabbath, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven!
I echo Sven’s thoughts regarding everyone. It looks like Mac is in his happy place with kittehs about.

I say you keep them both, possession being 9/10 of the law and all that.
Sounds perfect, Mac.

I think that’s a good idea, Paddy.

I’m not happy.
That’s a lot of mice in the garage! I hope your engine compartment efforts are successful.
Back to work tomorrow -- that doesn’t make me happy either.
Yeah, I get that. I’m glad I’m not in that situation, presently.
