Sunday morning when I went outside to put out the bird feeder and turn on the fountain, I noticed a large rat about 10 feet away from me. It didn’t move, so I tossed some gravel at it. It still didn’t move, so I figured it was dead. I didn’t have time to deal with it before I left for church, so I left it, but checked a few minutes later as I was leaving, and it was still there. It hadn’t moved an inch. When I came home from church, it was gone. My guess is that a falcon dropped it, then came back for it after I left.
Speaking of rats, I’ve had some trouble with field mice -- they seem to be too small to trigger the trap, altho they manage to eat the peanut butter bait. So in the garage I set up a live trap and caught three over the last couple of weeks. Two of them tho lost their tails or parts of their tails when the trap closed. I did release them live down the hill and told them not to come back. One must have as Tatum left his guts and a partial tail on the stair landing for me to step in the other day.
Not likely -- it’s more like “not that guy.” I’m in Group 77. Tuesday was 1-20; Wednesday is 21-35. If they drop another 5 groups for Thursday, I might be able to skate again.
Well… Still not getting unemployment. That status is still up in the air, I was kinda waiting to see what happened there because whether or not I have it would determine what kind of job I’d look for next. But….
