That’s good news, Mac. I’ve seen studies that show one of the more common lingering effects post-covid is ailurophobia. I hope you avoid that one, given your history.
Have they replaced all those confusing choices with one “all Democrat” button yet? They could even just have the machines vote for you so you would not have to bother or waste that gas going to the polls. Now that the Democrats have moved beyond Democracy and are removing Republicans from the ballots, it opens up so many great opportunities. The good officials in New York City can just prosecute anyone speaking against any democrat in the Country if the signal passes through New York.
It’s a good idea, but there’s too many Dems on the ballot as they all try to gain power. Have you seen the Too-Conservative-for-California Steve Garvey commercials? Funny stuff. “He voted for Trump…TWICE!!!!”
I was going over the ballot with my MiL and I had to explain that although Garvey wasn’t her first choice, he was the only Republican who stood a chance of making it into the general election. That of course prompted a discussion of Prop 14 and our jungle primary process.
“Well, that’s stupid!”
Yes, but the people of CA voted for it.
Sure Happy It’s Thursday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven, and Mac!
Paddy, how did HUD go?
The meeting itself was a bit odd for me. It was on Microsoft Teams and neither the audio or video worked for me. I exited and re-entered, but it still didn’t work, so I turned on captions to follow the conversation. I talked with Mrs. Paddy last night to get the tone of the meeting and she said the HUD representatives were very stern. Our attorney met with one of their attorneys yesterday afternoon to negotiate the fine. That part went well as the fine went from a maximum potential of $138k to $22k. Payment can’t come from the business, so we’ll take it out of a second set of apartments that aren’t HUD, then backfill when it’s time to do the semi-annual profit distributions to the partners in July. Mrs. Paddy will send out an email to all the partners letting them know that their distributions are being reduced by the HUD fine. They can then think about how their actions contributed to this mess.
Good day, GN. Good to see Mac and Paddy last night. Paddy, how did HUD go? Mac, both you and Elena fully recovered from covid?
We are both doing well, thank you. We are still very tired and weak, but getting back to our routines.

But of course any fear or hatred of cats is irrational.
It’s probably something that dogs started.
Election day next week here in CA. The ballot is thankfully brief. Not much to think about.

Measure 1 -- anything that Newsom supports I automatically vote against.
