When The Godfather first hit theaters, my uncle in Baltimore organized protests against it. Somewhat ironic as both my grandfather and another uncle had their lives saved by elements of various Italian clubs in Chicago at one time or another.
“This 1660 depiction of the Tatzelwurm is more of a cat-dragon than the typical cat-snake. The dragon-like version of the Tatzelwurm was told about in Swiss legend dating back to the early 17th century. In later years, Swiss scholar Johann Jakob Scheuchzer illustrated the creature in the 1720s; and because of this, this version of the Tatzelwurm also became known as Scheuchzer’s Dragon.”
I got an email from the DMV asking me if I wanted to apply for participation in a research project. They claim that with more EVs on the road, gas tax collections are down. How will we maintain our roads and bridges without gas taxes? Of course this presupposes that the gas tax is currently used to maintain roads and bridges. Anyway, they want to experiment with a miles-driven tax. So if I’ll just agree, they’ll track my mileage, send me a bill each month (or quarter, the details are vague), then reimburse me for up to $400 in gas taxes. Such a deal!
Of course the problem with declining gas tax revenues began with increased fuel economy, but they don’t want to admit that. Rather than moving everyone to a mile-driven tax model, just make that a requirement for EV owners and leave the rest of us alone.
Happy Friday, GN! Thread pic: that’s happened to us a couple of times.
Coons could be Italians; cats, French.

Beware the Tatzelwurm, my son.
Cats are frightening enough without cloning their heads on to a reptile.
Happy Friday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven, and Mac!
Stolen carpets and cat-headed tapeworms? I hate to think what’s next.
We may hope it does not involve scat.
Squirrel scat.
Watching videos from the hamas encampments at UCLA yesterday. The left can’t meme, but give them credit: they sure can rhyme.

That makes too much sense.
The world is truly upside down.

I did not see that coming.
