On the plus side, at least for us, we spent three hours yesterday with our insurance agent and got our homeowner’s insurance squared away. The $ hit was less than anticipated -- overall about a 10% increase over what we paid for the same coverage last year. It’s incredibly more convoluted than anything we’ve had to do in the past, but at least it is done. I imagine that if there is a fire and we have to use it, it will be a real clusterfark.
All the pre-op checks went well and both sending and receiving teams agree that the lungs look good. Surgery is running an hour late. He was just wheeled into the OR. Thanks for asking, Mac.
Thank you for the update. I have been wondering and hoping things looked good. Please let us know when convenient.
Sorry I didn’t say anything yesterday. I have been helping a neighbor the last two days. She is a teacher and her school is cutting back so she is applying at another school in Dallas, a charter school. It is an hour away and a rather nasty drive. She is terrified of freeway driving on new routes so I have helped her before find places. I did this for her past job a few years ago. It is a new school so the GPS systems don’t show it and there is freeway construction throwing everything off. I took her there Tuesday, then I took her to a different branch yesterday and waited a couple of hours while she interviewed. I am tired. Got a Doctors appointment today. Busy week.
Next month or so, there will be some type of “incident” targeting some dem somewhere and it will be blamed on Trump/MAGA rhetoric to show how dangerous he and his followers are.
Big day for our squirrel ward. We bought him a regular cage last weekend and he’s been inside and outside in it. Today we opened the door and let him roam around the patio and yard on his own. He got to interact with other squirrels -- the ones that hang out under the bird feeder -- and investigate the outdoors. He spent 2-3 hours more or less unwatched, but now climbed into Mrs Sven’s lap for some snacks and a nap. He’s still the smallest one out there, but they mostly ignored him. We’ll keep him inside tonight and repeat again tomorrow. I think in a few days he’ll mostly acclimate to the “wild” and our job will be done.
Happy uncharted territory Friday, GN!

That is good news. That insurance situation is a nightmare.
Happy Friday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven, and Mac!
Sven -- I’m glad you were able to get insurance without taking a major hit in the wallet. In fact, I’m glad you were able to find insurance, period.
Good morning, Paddy. Is there any news on Mrs. Paddy’s friend and her husband?

You’re a Good Gerbil, Mac.
Thank you Paddy, but not really.
Bah. You’re a good man and a good gerbil except for the cat thing.
Prayers for a good outcome.
We just got word that the surgery went well and his wife will be able to see him in about an hour. Thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers.
As my uncle was fond of saying, that’s a bit of alright.
Wonderful news. Thank you!
