Happy Convention Monday, GN.

Much on my mind this morning, but being old it will take me some time to unwind it all.

Odd that we still don’t know much of anything about the shooter. I grieve for those killed and shot at the rally, but I also grieve for him -- the few details that have emerged seem to show a man whose whole life was sad and lonely. Maybe more details will emerge that show him to be a full on antifa-type thug, but I doubt it.

Mrs Sven got into it last night with her oldest girlfriend over Trump -- that friendship which had waned over the years due to distance -- is probably more or less done.

On to work.

The conspiracy theories have already started in regards to the shooter. Loner, bullied -- just the type that the CIA loves to recruit. Why did the counter-sniper team wait until the attempted assassin fired before taking him out? Why wasn’t Trump removed from the stage the moment the shooter was spotted on the roof?

Sorry to hear about Mrs. Sven’s friend. There’s only so long you can hold your tongue in the face of idiotic remarks.

Sadly, it was like every 2A argument she’s ever had with libs over the years altho this time over Trump being Hitler and taking away all our rights. Feelings, not facts, and a constantly changing discussion landscape. “Yelling” was characterized as just “passion.” I think it ended with her girlfriend saying “We’ll just have to agree to disagree.”

Mrs Sven is saddened, but not all that surprised except for the craziness.

Happy Mantis Monday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven!

Sven -- that’s great news regarding dismissal of the Trump document case. It’s refreshing to see a judge look at the actual law -- in this case the appointment of special counsel -- and rule according to the law, not the desired outcome.

I know next to nothing about JD Vance, but from what little I’ve seen he seems to be able to hold his own.

Yeah, hated by all the right people -- that’s good enough for me.

Sorry to tell you, he got his J.D. from Yale Law School.
On the positive side, he enlisted in the USMC.

Yes, he practiced for a short time before going into venture capital.

I hope so, too. I think J.D. Vance is a good choice, given the reality of politics and politicians.
