Happy Tuesday, Gerbil Nation!

Thread pic: are you sure?
Having cats is like having guests stay with you. You change your routines to accommodate them. Having guest kitties is even more so.

I wish we could afford a pet. Or maybe it’s my attitude about the subject that is too expensive… hmmmm…. I’m not sure…

Power out -- no fires. Likely 24 hours more -- been out since around midnight. Have fun, guys.

I’m sorry this once-golden, now third-world state can’t keep the power on without burning the place down. I’m sure Gov. Gavin has a plan, though. Somewhere. Maybe hidden in the couch cushions.

Haven’t Brownouts and such been a thing in CA since the 70s? I seem to remember hearing about them on the news back then.

And when we moved to Portland, OR in the 90s, we had so many blackouts that I considered getting an emergency generator that runs on natural gas. But after that first couple of years up there, the power outages became much less frequent.

Well… I finally got *some* Christmas decorations up yesterday. I had to run out for tree lights, because I had forgotten that the last string I had died last year. Anyway. My “App Lights” that I put outside are still working. Pretty amazing, really. I’ve had them for years. I have two strings of them and they were, at the time especially, quite expensive. I think $40 each, and I bought 2 strings of them. But you can control their color and pattern with your phone so… And they have a whole collection of different ones you can get. I’d like of like to get more of them, honestly.

This year, instead of putting the lights out on my gate, which is the absolute most low effort thing. I strung them all across my bushes and other foliage. I think it looks a bit more festive, though now… I really wish I had more of them.
