Good morning, GN. Happy day whatever of SoCal’s current disaster event. Overnight here the winds picked up and are blowing steady at around 15 mph with gusts of 30-40 mph. No new fires in the immediate vicinity and the larger fires throughout SoCal were mostly holding steady with some containment progress.
Our power is still on, but my bet is that it will be turned off later today or early tomorrow. Here’s what we have to look forward to:
When I watched the thread gif I analyzed her falling technique. Yeah, we’re getting old.
Mrs. Paddy is going to see the doctor this morning. There’s some indication of infection in her throat, so it makes sense to get that looked at.
I read that Newsome’s answer to the roadblocks that government erects to rebuilding homes is to temporarily halt environmental reviews. A real leader would work to solve the problem for everyone for all time, not just a one-off exemption.
Wishing Mrs. Paddy the best and hope you are fully recovered. Re: Newsom -- the Mountain fire last November destroyed 20,000+ acres and hundreds of homes/structures. I don’t recall that type of largess extended to them.
Even if you believe climate change is an existential threat, as Newsom supposedly does, and you work to address its root causes, you can’t ignore how to adapt to it before you yell success. I’ve never understood this hysteric govt approach to a supposed problem.
I think it demonstrates that the government doesn’t take the problems that these regulations are supposed to solve, seriously. The regulations are just there to exert control and are abandoned when they prove to be inconvenient. Negatively impacting donors is, of course, inconvenient.
It’s just foreign to me -- God knows I’m not the best of men with too many sins on my soul, but I’ve never been this incompetent, confused, selfish, or uncaring. At least I hope not.
I could use some advice. In the backyard, I have my generator and 4 gallons of gasoline in 2 2gal plastic containers. Assuming we have to evacuate in the next two days, what do I do with the gasoline and generator? Leave them behind in the yard, move them inside the house, take them with?

Happy Monday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven!

But then the serfs could take advantage of it.
And we can’t have that.

I just don’t understand it. Is it all about power and self at the govt level?
Strangely enough, that seems to be the case.

Your thoughts?
If your gas cans don’t leak/slosh, then I would take them and the generator with you. 2nd choice would be to leave them in your garage.
Thanks, Paddy
