I am afraid I saw none of it. Elena’s father passed away at 7 this morning. She called me right after and I went over there. I just came home before 3PM, after they picked up the body. Everyone knew it was any time but the four daughters are still torn up. One of his nephews came from California with two of my FiL’s brothers that he had not seen in years, so four brothers were together for the weekend. He was very happy to see them and he passed in his sleep. No pain or fear. The family flew back to California early this morning. Not having been close to my family, it always impresses me to see the four sisters drawing so close to help each other and take care of their mother and father. The mother passed in 2013. Both passed at 7AM on a Monday morning.
Ah, geez. I’m sorry to hear that, mac. Prayers for comfort to Elena and her sisters. A blessing tho that her father passed away surrounded by a loving family.

I hope the inauguration goes off without a hitch and that the authorities are prepared for the expected attacks by Antifa, et al.
Mrs. Paddy and I are driving up to the Westside Pavillion this morning. It’s a gathering spot for victims of the Palisades fire to sign up for relief, access resources, etc. We’ll be providing information and taking sign-ups for UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief). We’ll also be directing people to other resources they need to register with, but might not know about, like the SBA.
I was very impressed with the operation. Signage was very clear, with personnel directing survivors and volunteers to the appropriate areas. They had hand-outs that listed all of the available agencies and organizations, along with their booth/table numbers. Volunteers highlighted the organizations that survivors should visit, based on their particular circumstances.
We talked with a lot of people who were doing their best in a bad situation.
