I’m old enough to remember when we had Lincoln’s Birthday and Washington’s Birthday as February holidays instead of this one.
Same here. Interestingly enough, a lot of school districts in SoCal have gone back to both holidays (both on a Monday, of course). It’s almost like the union wants more days off.
The stuff we got to get rid of cat urine smell seems to be working. It’s Rocco and Roxie Extreme Odor Eliminator. We’ve gotten rid of the odor on the couch and floor and most of the odor in and around the fireplace. The couch cushions are sitting in plastic bags, outside. If you keep the area damp, the enzymes can continue working -- hence the bags. I pulled one out this morning and there was still some lingering smell, so back in the bag it goes. I’ll check again tomorrow.
This is Mrs Sven’s last week of work before she’s out for 4-6 weeks slogging through medical stuff. She at least has a path forward, but we won’t know anything for sure until around March 20 or so as to where she stands. Cautiously optimistic, but these next weeks are not going to be pleasant. I’d give most anything to swap places with her -- being on the sidelines and unable to fix things is rough.
Power outage in our area tomorrow -- this is a scheduled maintenance that was originally planned for when the fire hit weeks back. Supposed to be for only 6 hours.
