The Raiders take on the Chiefs today. I’m a little conflicted as to who to root for; one team with a name and logo that promotes pillaging, rape, and murder, or the other team with a name and logo that is offensive to Native Americans and other tribal societies.
I think the solution is to name/brand all sports teams using only animals, fruits, and vegetables. The Oakland Pandas. The San Francisco Walnuts. The Dallas Cucumbers.

No, the best solution is to let the Left and the Permanently Offended Class (BIRM) tell us what team names are acceptable, then select from that list. Maybe if we can get enough of them working on that list, they won’t have time to intrude on other areas of our lives.

I think “Cucumbers” (or “Crook-Necked Squash”) would be more apt for a San Francisco team and “Bears” is already taken. I shall refrain from suggesting any Oakland team names save “Occupiers”…which is at least alliterative.

Maaaaaaan…right about now, the only members of Congress I don’t wish would DIAF are Cruz and Paul -- who should merely be well-singed. I really wish Paul hadn’t decided it was a good move to schmeichel -- Yiddish for “butter-up” with a strong undertone of toadying -- the SoCons.
(As, not being one myself, I have some serious concerns about politicians who might wind-up beholden to that particular bloc…particularly re the War on Drugs and American law enforcement in its current iteration.)

Alas, the establishment types are the ones mostly holding the GOP purse-strings. (And, while it may be petty of me, I still carry a grudge regarding their treatment of Gary Johnson during the 2012 election cycle.)
While there have unquestionably been some successes “taking over” the GOP at the grassroots level by more liberty-minded people, so long as folks like Norquist, Rove and their ilk have much say at the national level, I remain deeply skeptical cynical about the Republican Party. (Not to mention Weepy rolling-over just a couple of days ago…)

The wife of an 80-year-old man who was shot dead by Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies in a mistaken meth lab raid is planning to sue the county for $50 million, she said.
On the morning of June 27, detectives raided the couple’s home in unincorporated Littlerock, serving a search warrant granted because the property allegedly smelled of the ingredients used to make methamphetamine, according to sheriff’s department officials.
There’s a dispute about what exactly happened at the home in the 36600 block of 117th Street East (map), east of Palmdale, but Eugene Mallory ended up dead, shot six times.
No evidence of a meth operation was ever found, though sheriff’s officials say marijuana was found on the property.
Note it wasn’t a marijuana grow op…and that weed smells nothing like “ingredients used to make methamphetamine”. Watch the video at the link; this was another fatally serious LEO screw-up. The guy was a retired Lockheed Martin engineer with a security clearance; the coroner’s office released the body to (allegedly) an out-of-state relative who conveniently had the body cremated ASAP. And the LASD spokeshole exemplifies the term “pig”.
This incident is a sterling example of why sovereign immunity needs to be entirely eliminated in America.
I suspect the “multiple visits” were cruise-bys on the way to Dunkin Donuts; it does not seem that any actual surveillance (aka due diligence, responsible policing, abiding by the law and the constitution, etc.) was actually done.
Because that’s boring; not nearly so much fun as being violent, balaclava-wearing, rabid goons playing army and legally murdering innocent old men with nary a consequence but a little bad PR. Thank goodness those brave heroes in blue -- the sheepdogs without whom we’d have utter anarchy! -- have a union to faithfully defend them when they murder one of us little people. Or otherwise break the law. Or their various oaths.

People talk about how tough Hillary Clinton is; she’s nothing compared to Sarah Palin. Clinton has never done anything in her life that didnt benefit herself. Her and Obama are cut from the same cloth.
Man, that was one ugly second half of football from the Oakland Cukes. And there I was getting my hopes up only to have them once again dashed into the earth like, I dont know like what. But it was ugly. Ugly.
While that annoyed me (’cause I’m more the vengeful asshole type), Palin taking the “high road” did not particularly harm her reputation with supporters.
What was done to her by both the media and the GOP was contemptible; I found her far and away the least objectionable candidate compared with Il Douchey, Joey Choo-Choo and Maverick. (Yeah, I know…faint praise.)
But I sho’ ’nuff was glad to see both McCain and Kerry out there today supporting their fellow vets; they are fine fellows. (Did you know John Effin’ Kerry went to Vietnam? True story.)
