It’s Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day) in Israel and I see that Mahmoud Abbas is no longer denying the Holocaust (despite his doctoral thesis) -- which isn’t the same as affirming that it happened. Fortunately, Israel’s leaders don’t seem to be buying it.

I often wonder what he’d make of many events in this country over the last twelve years (given his keen intellect, stunning depth and breadth of self-acquired knowledge and personal experiences).
I suspect he would be a bit alarmed by some of it; I sure do miss talking with him.
