Happy Tuesday from Ebola-less (so far as we know) and Happy Larryville, GN.
I see from teh thread GIF that Sven’s “neighbors” are being jerks again.
Amazingly -- as of this typing -- the Gaza ceasefire has lasted 7.5 hours, which means I owe BetterHalfK $0.25. (She bet the ceasefire would be violated in forty minutes; I picked twenty.)
Yeah, coons, aint they teh funniest critters ever? I had to replace the patio screen door last weekend because of them--well, I can’t really blame them--they just do as animals do. I can maybe blame someone else, but that would be wrong. Anyhow, the job is done.
Did see one guy off a 101 offramp yesterday holding a sign which read: Support Gaza--Fee Palestine. Have to see if he’s back again today.
“Lessee…we got fees for 15,373 rocket landings, a metric carp-tonne of mortar shells, rock-throwing fees, fill dirt fees for all o’ them tunnels, demolition fees, compound interest since 2001, late payments; sheeeeeeit, boy…with your sand-based economy, y’all are so far underwater on that whole Gaza property, even a deep sea rescue vehicle wouldn’t help you.”
Gaaaaaak!
Where do I start?!
The last ten days or so have just flown by -- which is a good thing. There’s been some interesting ‘tings along the way.
Like less-than-useless tendering her resignation a week after getting handed one of those “Performance Improvement Plans” last week. Must’ve been the last straw.
She handed in her resignation Friday, thinking she’d make the two week’s notice period; nope Teh Mangler™ accelerated ‘tings and she was gone by noon.
AND…we’re in the middle of production.
My head was swimming.
So once we get freed, I get the fun of trying to track down what she touched and did she do so correctly, and ‘DEN, I’ve got the fun of running that same query for Teh Mangler™ -- who decided to get HIS feet wet (for the first time) today.
Aside from the work thing, Mr. X has successfully created QZilla: it’s a smoker with a propane grill option. We’ve experimented with the fire heat/timing/duration so hopefully, tomorrow evening we can kick it off just before I get off work and have a delicious little pork roast for dinner.
And I’ve been working on getting some proper plants going around this joint -- found a native Texas plant show last weekend and brought home a box full of things I probably won’t kill (see Sven?).
But on that front, the dogs have become so accustomed to their bluegill Scooby Snacks in the afternoon, they’re trying very hard to make my work day shorter. Now, if we could just get the turtles to stop trying to mate with the bobbers…
Oy.
Such problems.
I see Hamas has held to the cease-fire for several hours so far…
I’d like to think that some of the human shields have decided against standing in front of the missile batteries, but I’m sure the “quiet” is just because they’re busy doing something else to rearm.
And Teh freakin’ Yay™! The feckless idjits at the CDC have brought to the US one of the most deadly virii on the planet -- and say, “Never fear, we know how to contain it…”
Oh yeah, people getting test in NY and Ohio.
I’m glad I don’t get out much.
Except to Wal-Mart.
Oh sh¡t. I’m screwed.
Glad you popped ’round. Hope that QZilla™ (love the name!) does a nice job for you tomorrow. Congratters on divesting yourself of Less-Than-Useless; may Teh Mangler™ be your next scalp. 😉

Amazing that Hamas hasn’t violated the ceasefire yet; that may not be a good sign.

I was at a WaddleMart™ today which is much closer to Emory University than yours, and it seemed to be Ebola-free; just sayin’.
Oh…Joey Choo-Choo inserted his foot into his piehole today at the United States Africa Leaders Summit:

Got nuthin’ else; BBL.
Good morning--

Off to work. Yes, I really love my job. Really.
Poof
I sort of like that idea:
“Lessee…we got fees for 15,373 rocket landings, a metric carp-tonne of mortar shells, rock-throwing fees, fill dirt fees for all o’ them tunnels, demolition fees, compound interest since 2001, late payments; sheeeeeeit, boy…with your sand-based economy, y’all are so far underwater on that whole Gaza property, even a deep sea rescue vehicle wouldn’t help you.”
[Insert sub-prime mortgage joke here]
*Flees*
Yeah, about those fleas, we got a fee for eradicating them, too.
And then there’s teh bedbugs…that’s gonna cost ya, too.
Good morning, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa and Sven!
No word yet on Hamas breaking the cease-fire -- I guess they need to resupply.
Resser-fresser lazy, corrupt U.N. relief workers! 😉

One. Heartbeat. Away.
Do they speak Austrian in the nation of Africa?
No, I think the official language is Afrikaans.
Dang…I thought it was Australian.
Crikey.
