“Sure Happy It’s Tuesday” greetings from sunny Larryville, GN!
Hiya, Paddy!
Did somebody call for hillbillies?
I prefer the less-disparaging term “Mountain Williams”.
Glad I’m not flying anytime soon, what with the “make them feel the pain” tactic of furloughing air traffic controllers and commensurate flight delays/cancellations. (I wonder how many FAA bureaucrats are getting unpaid days off???)
===============
The Rottie has some videos which credibly seems to be from Watertown, MA last week and which seriously raises my hackles.
Seeing police dressed in military gear with military equipment rousting folks at gunpoint in a middle class American town is more than a little frightening to me. Moreso the fact that, thus far, there doesn’t seem to be much outrage.
To borrow a recent Ed Driscoll headline: “Weimar? Because We Reich You”.
There’s a lot of things that ought to be discussed in the aftermath of the bombing, but probably won’t. NY’s Mayor Bloomberg:
“The people who are worried about privacy have a legitimate worry,” Mr. Bloomberg said during a press conference in Midtown. “But we live in a complex word where you’re going to have to have a level of security greater than you did back in the olden days, if you will. And our laws and our interpretation of the Constitution, I think, have to change.”
Clair Wolfe has been all over this as well:
….Well, now we know what happens when police cordon off a neighborhood, declare it a Fourth-Amendment-free zone, send SWAT teams house-to-house, and hover helicopters overhead.
People cheer and applaud. They turn out in the streets to wave little American flags.
And next we can watch as they condone demand and slaver over illegal treatment of Suspect #2 (an American citizen). We can “enjoy” a new round of anti-immigrant and anti-Islam hatred. We can observe bobbleheads nodding from Los Angeles to Hartford as Good Citizens agree with all the new promises politicians and the state-security apparatus make as they concoct onerous new ways to “protect” us all.
Good news for the Kings: they’ve secured a playoff spot. With three games to go, we could end up anywhere from 4th to 8th, but I think with the tie-breakers, realistically we can’t drop below 6th. They really need that fourth seed spot tho for home ice.
Teh Mermaid, formally known as Cali has indeed found you rascally gerbils again!
I’ts Terrific Tuesday!!
What that means, is…shhhhhhhh. My boss actually thinks I get off work on Tuesdays early to pick up kids and babysit all afternoon, but in reality, I head straight to the beach to…
**))SPLASH((**
Happy to see teh wheel back in action!
