Speaking of cats, troll cat has been doing well the last couple of weeks. He was a mess a few weeks back, just filthy from lack of grooming, so we gave him his first bath. It was not the worst time ever and afterwards he seemed quite happy. He’s been eating his food without much complaint and really loves chicken drumsticks. He’s been quite active and pleasant. He’s probably planning something nasty and just biding his time…lulling us into that false sense of security.
Happy Hump Day, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa and Sven!
Sven -- I’m glad troll cat is doing well and hope Mrs. Sven is feeling better.
The realtor we met with yesterday is going to put together numbers for a couple of options on my folks’ house: 1) selling as-is to a flipper, or b) making the home liveable, investing some additional money beyond what the insurance will pay and selling at a higher price. The second option would include things like a new roof, tenting the house for termites, repairing termite damage, and hauling away all the accumulated stuff that no one wants.
Teh Older helped me start the process of clearing things out of the rafters in the garage. In addition to lots of empty boxes and boxes of old 3-ring binders I found a couple of boxes of my Dad’s old uniforms, a box of old games, and another of old children’s books. We also found a footlocker with my old model trains and a box of pictures and papers that we’ll have to go through. There are still lots of boxes to remove and it’s going to be hot, dirty work. I can’t wait.

Evening Greetings, all.
Oh, Paddy…
We have found some “treasures”, too.
ZS didn’t want to go through her husband’s stuff (or even her own things). So he was some kind of hoarder. She just cleared his things out of their room when he died & dumped it in the garage. We found a pouch full of key rings with of all kinds of makes & models of cars. A couple of things of TM’s that weren’t supposed to be in his jewelry hoard, too. Lots of jackknives. One of which BW thinks is her Granddads. The display case in the house was empty. The other display case with her father’s & uncle’s knives were intact. Both were on an old fuzzy backing. The loose knife Worthless Son-in-law had that same fuzzy residue on the handle. Words fail me.
Hot dirty work is what it is.
Also Hot Dirty Work may have opened for The Allman Brothers in ’73.
Happy Hump Day, GN!
Good thoughts for the lot o’ ye; BBL.
