Happy Caturday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven and Fatwa!
Mrs. Paddy and I had a good time in San Diego. We started out at the Mt. Soledad Veteran’s Memorial, then drove around La Jolla a bit before heading down to the Gaslamp Quarter in San Diego. Late in the afternoon we ended up in a little restaurant next to the Padres stadium. We met a group of young men who were reporting to the USS Ronald Reagan (CVN-76). They had just arrived from duty on another carrier stationed in Japan. They were all ‘Mavericks and Geese’ -- F/A-18 pilots and RIO’s. We had a wonderful conversation and they renewed my faith in the ability of America to turn out truly awesome citizens. When we left, I tried to buy them a round of drinks to be delivered after we left, but the staff couldn’t figure out how to do that. They had to enter something specific into the point-of-sale terminal before they could charge me. So we got thanks that we really didn’t want.
Now I’m off to a memorial service for a dear lady I’ve known since 1971, then on to my folks’ house to clear things out of the rafters.
Thanks, Sven.
The memorial service was really well done -- it captured who she was.
Workers have started repairing the drywall at my folks’ house and my nephew has cleared out more of his things. Unfortunately, he also cleared out the step ladders. With some effort and ingenuity, I managed to get down the remaining boxes (or identified them as containing empty boxes, manila folders, etc.). The next step is to get someone out to bid on clearing out the remaining “stuff”.
Poor kitty.
Happy Caturday, GN!
Hai, Sven!
Hi Fatwa! Good kitty, not sad like his cousin in the thread pic.
I see the Race War is going along swimmingly; last night coming to you live from Houston. Good job, Obama.
One of my favorite things about the current administration is all of the racial healing; props to Al “Tax Cheat” Sharpton for his able assistance.
Obama has just been on top of the whole “ending of racial divides” since he took office. The absolute power and magnificence of this man!

Sounds like a good time yesterday, Paddy. Hope today won’t be overly difficult.
Thanks, Sven.
