Appropriate Monday thread GIF, soon-to-be-a reality-show-star Mac! I’m glad you’re going to tone-down your usual garish garb for the appearance. 🙂
More seriously, I hope your “reunion” with your partner is fun and that you inspire some kids. (Making high-precision parts for race cars, spacecraft, etc. is pretty damned cool. As is excellence in a useful and necessary profession.)
We are in the process of refinancing the house. The appraiser comes tomorrow. Hope he likes it as much as the last one did. His number could fall into a broad range.
Good morning, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa and Mac!
Mac -- I concur with Fatwa -- you’ve got a lot to share with those kids and it is way more relevant than anything else they would normally be learning in school. Good luck on the appraisal, as well.
Thank you both. I hope I will not be speaking to them but if I do I will advise them to take full advantage of the opportunity to hear my partner. He was on a bad path and turned himself around. He has been very effective at reaching young people.
Spoke with him yesterday; he sounded really good. The second procedure seems to have accomplished what the first one didn’t. With a bit of luck, he’ll be discharged today. (Which would be nice for MamaK, too; she’s exhausted.)
Much obliged for everyone’s prayers and thoughts.
One of the many amazing things about the procedure he had is that when it’s successful, the results are quite apparent in just a few days.
Good morning! A little birdie told me that some gerbils have been very very baaaad over the weekend and were gossiping about my fire makin’ skilz? Hmmmm? If I remember correctly, no gerbils were harmed. I do remember though, somebody brought a bottle of turpentine stuff which they actually drank! That stuff would have probably blown the whole backyard off the canyon if used in said fire making…
Speaking of the backyard..my wonderful husband is building me an outdoor shower that will serve 2 purposes…no more clogged drains from beach sand. (I’m so guilty) and a better place to give Cali a bath so no more precious water will be running down the gutter. All the water will be captured to divert into my garden and fruit trees. It will have a small propane water heater too so Ill be able to get a nice hot shower after my winter swims. We found some gorgeous opaque acrylic panels with yellow sea grass embedded that will let the sunlight in for a ridiculously low price at a office closing sale. Ill post pics as soon as its finished. We just got the deck part in this weekend.
Gaaaaaaaaah! mornin’, GN!

BBL.
I’m feeling more and more like the corkscrew from Sunday.
Hai, Mac!
Have you developed googly Cookie Monster eyes like the corkscrew?
Check back tonight.

Mac --
You’re a skilled, accomplished machinist and entrepreneur with much hard-won professional and personal wisdom to share with those students.
Hope the appraisal yields salutary results!

Fatwa, is there any news on PapaK ? The last words I saw sounded encouraging but what a critical time.

Fatwa! Thanks for the good news on Papa K!
Wonderful news!
TehMermaid, I blame Paddy.
Only because of the incredibly fast reflexes of a couple of old farts with strong self-preservation instincts!
That was a bottle for Denny effin’ Crane! It was one of the brands he mentioned favoring. There’s plenty left if you want some.
Wasn’t that called Frog Pee or something like that? Or maybe Laughing Frog because it saw our faces after tasting it?
We did rather hit the deck. My life might have flashed before my eyes but I was too glare blind to see.
Heading down toward Rabbitland. See ya’ll later.
Good luck, Mac! I hope you have a great time!
Just got home. It was fun and more relaxed than I had expected.
Good on you, Mac. Hope you had a good time.
Glad you had a good time, Mac.
