We went to see Bridge of Spies last night. Teh hubby wanted to go get a beer and a burger at Eureka and the Arclight movie theater is a short walk from there. We checked the listings on my phone from the bar and thought it would be a good idea to see a movie too. The next movie playing started at 8:30pm. That right there should have discouraged us but we bought tickets anyway. We got our favorite seats, the ones right behind the handicapped so we could put our feet up on the rail and some popcorn. My boss told me last week that it was a great movie but I kept nodding off, woke up a few times, barely made it to the end but dang! All I remember is that Tom Hanks always had that very serious look on his face every time I opened my eyes. There were Germans, Russians, a Berlin wall and lots of snow and drama. No action. We got home at 11pm. All I know is I’m still tired from staying up past my bedtime and I need MOAR coffee!
I’m a daytime girl. Once that sun goes down I’m ready for snuggles in my warm blankies.

And it was from the second guy that offered the insulting $140!
So now we are trying to keep ourselves from getting too excited, but it is hard

Lesson of the weekend: when you take the advice of someone about seasoning your cast iron pan in the wood stove, consider how you’re going to extract the now *red hot* utensil from the stove.
Lemme put it this way: wood stove 1, oven mitt 0.
I didn’t think in a million years the mitt would combust like that.
Worse was walking out onto the screenporch, “Hey, don’t mind the smoke in the house. The fire’s out…”
