Good morning, Gerbil Nation!
Teh Younger arrived home last night from a week of hiking and diving on Catalina. From the stories, it sounds like he had a great time. It sure is nice to have him home, although he leaves again on Sunday, this time for a week in and around Yosemite.
Susan Rice? Yeah, that should work well. What’s next? Joe Biden for V.P.?
Nah! Even Teh Won isn’t that stooopid!
Kings pulled out a win last night against the Blackhawks-not their best performance, but they looked much better home in LA than they did in Chicago. We gots some hope.
Chicago’s guy, Duncan Keith, gave a nasty stick to the face of Jeff Carter and that one’s under review by the League today-hoping for a suspension on Keith. Physically, the Kings have been battered this postseason whereas last year they were the batterers.
You can see the Keith slash on Carter at the 25 second mark:
“Jeff Carter received 20 stitches as well as several cracked and chipped teeth after taking Duncan Keith’s stick to his face. He has put the incident behind him; his quotes will also be posted this afternoon.”
Watching the play, it didnt look like much at the time even tho Carter went down to the ice and his face was bloody and swollen when he returned to the ice later in the game.
When I first met Jim teh Roofer, one of the company vehicles was a clapped-out pickup (aka the “Sanford and Son” truck) used for hauling debris. Had a sticker on the back of the cab which read:
Yeah, of the four major American sports, hockey has the most blood. It’s amazing to watch these guys getting busted up, noses broke, teeth knocked out, and they head off to locker room, get stitched up, and back out on the ice.
I wonder what impact Obamacare will have on the game?
The League handed down a one-game suspension on Keith, so he’ll be out for tomorrow night’s game.
A blast from the past; one of my favorite players, Marty McSorley, hacking at Donald Brashear’s head:
This was a weird one as McSorley, altho quite the fighter and enforcer, was never a cheap shot artist-except for this one time. It ended up ending his career and he was arrested and faced assault charges in a Canadian court. He was found guilty. A sad ending to an otherwise great career.
To quote Allahpundit: “I never thought I’d say it, but I’m saying it — MSNBC’s really gone downhill since Olbermann left.”
His Exhibit A is this clip of Martin Bashir’s fevered assertion that the phrase “the IRS” is now equivalent to calling the president a nigger. (No, I’m not kidding.)
That POS is impossible to watch, but that goes for just about everyone at that station.
It’s funny too, that every thing that went wrong in the country, in the administration or otherwise, was tied to Bush for eight years; but now the rules have changed again and now nothing that goes bad can be linked to Obama without that racism charge being thrown out.
Humpy Hap Day, GN!
I see that Administration spokeshole Susan E. Rice will be Il Douchey’s new National Security Advisor. We continue to be in the very best of hands.

One of the comments about that vid at YouTube was, “IRS, please!” (I’m a Bad Gerbil because that made me chortle.)
