Last June, Wallenda walked across Niagara Falls, and now, he wants to walk from the Chrysler Building to the Empire State Building – a distance of 4,000 feet. That is three times the length of the stunt Sunday night, but first, the city would have to approve it.
“I enjoy not just walking the wire, but I enjoy the challenges of getting the proper permissions,” Wallenda said.
But will the city grant those “proper permissions?” No, they will not, said police Commissioner Ray Kelly.
“It’s dangerous to cross the Grand Canyon, and obviously, there’s water at the bottom of the Grand Canyon. Here, we have thousands of New Yorkers,” Kelly said.
Good morning, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa!
The first day of Day Camp went very well. It should be a good week, although I’m not looking forward to the large jump in temperature expected later this week.
I’m really looking forward to seeing the latest designs from Fatwa of Beverly Hills. I wonder if he’ll be showing in New York?
SCOTUS has narrowly struck down a key portion of the Voting Rights Act -- expect liberal howls of RAAAAAAAAACIST and other non-sequiters. Both Ace and SCOTUSBlog have coverage.
Hmmmmm. Watching the post-trial reporting on teh cable news networks, they all but ignored the beating that one eyewitness took; apparently, they think the prosecution scored huge points today and everything is going along just fine. I.E. Zimmerman is toast.
If the trial continues in this fashion, and the reporting follows suit, it’s going to be a Rodney King dejavu all over again. Which would be good for ratings I guess.
The prosecution has a hard row to hoe -- they have to prove it was not self defense. I recommend http://www.talkleft.com for all things Zimmerman. The founder is a lefty defense lawyer and she has been on the real legal and evidenciary issues from the start.

Sorry I have been out of the loop these last two weeks. I have been selfish and stupid. My days would have been so much better for a touch of Wheelie Snark.
Sure Happy It’s Tuesday, GN!
I’m thinking of starting an Etsy haberdashery; the startup costs are fairly reasonable with excellent prospects for growth…
I can hardly wait to see what enviro-horsepucky Il Douchey will announce today.

Good luck with your shots; really hope they help.
Looks like Nik Wallenda’s S.O.L. re NYC:
WTF?

FTFY, Paddy…’cause it’s simultaneously more “homey” and
gheyum, fashionable-sounding.Figured it’d make more sense to start marketing locally; I think tractor caps are just teh thing…and they’re worn by both men and women.

“Release teh Gerrymander!”
MSNBC and the usual suspects seem to be going out of their minds over that SCOTUS decision. As such, I figure it must be a good thing.
Watched some of the Zimmerman trial coverage today; Mark O’Mara earned his money today as he ripped apart the state’s first eyewitness.
