Do you use Photbucket for anything else, Mac, or just this site?

Fatwa Arbuckle: Misanthropologist

Hiya, Mac!

I guess the thread image display problem’s not my browser; seemed like it was having trouble connecting with Photobucket earlier. Sad that site’s gone to hell since they started charging for it.

It’s like government.

Sad “heh”. At least -- to my knowledge -- they haven’t shot, Tased or pepper-sprayed anyone for sport.

Yet.

Some large tech companies are not too far off from a fair amount of dystopian science fiction; unaccountable international corporate entities with way too much power…and far too little accountability.

Happy Wednesday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven, Fatwa, and Mac!

I’ve got my schedule printed out for prepping and cooking the turkey(s), dressing, and gravy, but I know that it won’t stand up to reality, especially once people start to arrive.

On our end, for the first time in at least 5 years, we won’t be doing dinner here, but over at my brother’s place. And all we have to bring is an appetizer. Easy peasey.

Heya, Paddy!

Let your guests fill-up on appetizers; MOAR leftovers! 👿

So Test in the 1:10 post = the image in the 1:13 post, and Test 2 in the 1:10 post = the picture in the 1:22 post. I can see both images in their respective posts.

Funny that I’m not hearing about this on MSNBC:

So it starts out this way: “It began when a Central American migrant was interviewed on video, threatening to Mexicans who are protesting against the caravan. It is unclear where this took place but most likely in Tijuana Mexico, near the POE with the United States.
He threatened to shoot Mexicans that interfered, saying, “If they want violence, that is what they will see. What are 30 assholes going to do against 30k migrants?” he asked”

And then it becomes this: “Migrant Caravan: Video of kidnapped migrant being interrogated after issuing threat against Mexicans”

http://www.borderlandbeat.com/2018/11/a-caravan-migrant-is-kidnapped-he.html

And then there’s this little gem:”Mexicans in large part have little use for people from Central America, and have begun protesting in Tijuana against their arrival, not allowing them to loiter around the border fence. On social media, comments are brutal against the migrants, calling them free loading dogs, saying “go back to where you came from” Read the comments in the youtube video. Tensions are high. Shelter and medical costs in Tijuana alone have cost millions. No news what happened next.”

I mentioned last week that Jack Tatum was nervous and acting weird and keeping a sharp eye on the hill in back of our house. Here’s something I noticed the other day.

I put out a two-gallon bucket of water in the back porch one evening -- with all the dry weather and fires and such, wildlife has been on edge so it’s the least we can do. Mrs Sven’s coons usually come through once a night or early morning for a drink. Coons cannot just drink from a bowl or a pail: they have to put their feet in the water and swirl it around. You can tell when a coon has been by cuz there’s water sloshed all over and the water in the pail is muddy/dirty. They also tend to knock over smaller water bowls and then stand around staring at the empty bowl dumbfounded.

So I put a fresh pail out and filled it to the very top. The next morning I noticed that the water level was down about 3 inches from the top and that the water was clear, so no coons with dirty feet. My guess is that something large and thirsty came by and got a huge drink. Coyote, bobcat, mountain lion.

I think the animal has moved on as Tatum is less on edge. He still keeps an eye out back -- he’s on the upstairs balcony now in one of the patio chairs -- but he isn’t freaking out anymore.
