A blessed Sabbath, Gerbil Nation!
I had a great time with my brother last night. My nephew was in the main event and won the championship belt! (We didn’t know before-hand if he was going to win or lose.) It was the first time I’ve seen him wrestle and I have to say he puts on a pretty good show.

Hola from Happy Larryville, GN!

Like teh thread pic, Mac.

Found this article about -- allegedly -- soon-to-be-available inexpensive CNC metalworking machines interesting:

That said, some of the emerging technologies that make plastic guns feasible are viable for metalwork as well, and machines like the crowd-funded Othermill means that CNC metalworking machines will soon be in the hands of people for a fraction of the cost of the plastic printing machines.

Purely as a practical matter, how long do you think it will be before someone takes an Othermill or similar portable CNC machine, and builds the jigs and writes the code to make finishing an 80% receiver or 80% frame as simple as clicking a button with your mouse?

I’d be curious what more knowledgeable Wheelizens think as, a) the article doesn’t furnish any significant technical details, and b) even if it had, I know fark-all about machining. (But sure like the potential for disruption which could be caused by a small, affordable CNC device…)
