G’mornin’, GN; so glad that it’s Mon…gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!1!
Those’re some fearless lizards in teh thread GIF.
Didn’t watch teh entire “Detroit Open” video; maaaaaan, how depressing. And I see Cleveland suffering from many of the same policies -- and results. But somehow, moar taxpayer’s money can be used to fix Cleveland. (Reducing regulation, bureaucracy and taxes is never an option there, because there’s insufficient opportunity for beak-wetting. Plus, it’s more important to make sure that McDonalds can’t open a new location in “historic” Ohio City because…EVUL!!)
*Shakes head*
Bread, circuses and rotting civic carcass = good. Clown logo’d burgers = bad crimes against humanity.
It looks a lot like the way Detroit was pictured in Brandon Lee’s last movie: The Crow.
Detroit will be an interesting experiment over the next 20 years-maybe some right-thinking folks will come on in and revive the place.
I do find it funny to play the what-if-George-Bush- had-said- it game with Obama going on about how he ‘saved’ Detroit. Juxtaposed with the ‘Mission Accomplished’ banner incident.
“Anthony Weiner is not an entertaining kook, he is a new-age flasher who has traded the traditional raincoat that can be opened to show his wares for a digital camera that enables him to expose himself for the world, a dubious technological achievement.” -- Bob Schieffer on “Face the Nation” 07/28/13
Heh…that’s gonna leave a mark. (Which Weiner will probably photograph and email to some women.)
Good morning, Gerbil Nation!
I’m at an AP Summer Institute on the campus of UC Riverside this week. The commute is a killer, but with all the foot-dragging of the public teat-suckers at the district office, it was the only one I could get into. I’m here to learn all about the new structure for the AP Chemistry course and the new labs that must be conducted, and the new exam, etc. 8.5 hours each day. In a lab, sitting on a stool. I’m sure my back is going to be killing me by the end of the week. Oh, and no shorts and sandals -- we’ll be conducting labs.
Why yes, I actually can submit for reimbursement of mileage. I have no idea how long it will take to get reimbursed (I’m thinking 3-4 months), but at 112.3 miles per day, you can bet I’m submitting it for all it’s worth.

“BOGO.”??????
That’s a ghastly drive, Paddy…presuming I’m even remotely accurate in my recollection of where you reside.
I don’t suppose you get a mileage reimbursement. (Or can beat it out of teh district office goons come September.)
