Good morning and happy Wednesday. Thank you, God, for another day!

Bit chilly in these parts; autumn is definitely here.

Good morning, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven!
Yep, autumn is definitely in the air -- chilly in the morning, warm in the afternoon. Next week I anticipate our annual Halloween Santa Ana winds.

Mid-week salutations from Happy Larryville, GN!
G’morning, Sven and Paddy!

That’s an oddly disconcerting and very wrong thread GIF; bravo!

====================

I think I’ve gotten to the point where I can exercise simply by reading the news. Elevated cardio and respiratory rates; isometrics from clenching pretty much every voluntary muscle in my body. (The only reason I haven’t “hit the wall” yet is a concern about damaging my hands…and the fact I’d then have to do dry wall repairs.)

D.C. is effectively unaccountable / useless except for extorting money from us, hemming us in with more laws and regulations and, increasingly, coercing us to do their bidding because FY, TW.

Both major parties have ratcheted-up their vilification of Tea Party / libertarian types; we’re the wreckers and kulaks. (Because wanting our gummint to obey the Constitution is now equivalent to anarchism and lawlessness.)

Good morning, guys.

Yeah, not a bad flag statement, Fatwa.

OK, off to work. Play nice.

Play nice.

Does that mean not scoring too many points or we’ll get accused of bullying? 😉

The coach of a Texas high school football team has been accused of bullying in a formal complaint after his team beat another school 91-0.

In the complaint, the dad of a player on the Western Hills High School football team claims Aledo High School football coach Tim Buchanan encouraged his players to bully their opponents by running up the score. Buchanan learned of the online complaint against him Saturday, the day after his team beat Western Hills in a 4A matchup.

Today’s nominee for the Lee Paige Firearms Safety at School Award:

Two students suffered minor injuries when an officer’s gun accidentally misfired during a safety demonstration at an elementary school in Chino Wednesday, authorities said.

It happened about 11:15 a.m. at Newman Elementary School (map), according to Tamrin Olden, crime prevention supervisor for the Chino Police Department.

Officers were on the Chino campus for a Red Ribbon Week event, a national initiative aimed at preventing drug use among children and teens.

The students, whose ages and genders have not yet been released, were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, Olden said.

Misfired???!?

Hope those really are “minor injuries”; bet the yoonyun will defend this officer’s stunning ineptitude. I wonder which of Jeff Cooper’s rules he broke…

Let’s hope those kids aren’t permanently traumatized.

On a serious note, the weapon was apparently attached to a motorcycle, which means it was a shotgun. What kind of moron leaves a round in the chamber of a secondary weapon that is seldom, if ever, used and is somewhat unsecured every time the officer steps away from his motorcycle? Further, what mental midget leaves a loaded weapon in reach of a bunch of school kids who haven’t been taught firearms safety and aren’t being supervised?

According to this article:

Authorities say a child pulled the trigger on a police assault rifle at a Southern California elementary school, firing a bullet and creating shrapnel that injured three kids.

Chino police spokeswoman Tamrin Olden says the AR-15 was on a rack attached to a motorcycle on display during a drug prevention assembly Wednesday at Newman Elementary School.

Olden says a child managed to fire the rifle. The bullet hit a protective metal plate and shattered, making metal debris that apparently hit the children and left them with minor injuries.

Fire officials say two students were treated at hospitals and one was treated at school for cuts and scrapes.

Tamrin says all rifles have now been removed from department motorcycles and the incident is under investigation.

An AR-15 on a motor unit?!?!?!
Loaded? On display? With a round in the effing chamber?!!??!!!
Under California’s various ‘safe storage’ laws, Joe Average would be arrested and facing a prison term for anything remotely resembling this. I’m sure the officer involved will get a ‘stern warning’ (but not in his personnel file).

“Officer safety”, dontcha know. There’s a “War on Cops” (despite the FBI figures which show precisely the opposite for about the past twenty years) and their most important job anymore is to go home at the end of the day.

Plus, some of those elementary schoolers are vicious, violent thugs; you can’t be too careful these days.

The King’s Men are extra-special…and they have a yoonyun, too.

Just so long as there’s an investigation. As long as they do that, I’m OK with it.

Schadenfreude. It aint much, but it’s what I got looking at D.C.. I’ll take it and double down on that bitch for as long as she keeps puttin’ out. And judging by the last 5 years, she’ll be giving it up for quite some time.

All the crap they use to say about George Bush and his administration. Don’t look all that bad now in comparison, does it?
