In my case, more true than it once might have been.
I denounce myself for expecting all people to be judged by the same standards. However, after fifty years of being told repeatedly that’s not “fair” by certain communi-teeees, it’s simply common sense to reevaluate those expectations.
• 20% cost increase to $1.2B.
• Raiding of hotel/motel taxes for maintenance and upkeep over thirty years.
• My personal fave: a 62,000 square foot (1.42 acre) video screen built into the retractable roof. WTFingF??? (I expect that will show every single mite on each of Il Douchey’s nose hairs when they start the Nuremberg-style rallys; teh yay!)
I have been fooling around with the movie Bride of Frankenstein. Many people talk about the great job Elsa Lanchester did as the creature’s bride but I am enchanted by her portrayal of Mary Shelley. It is hard to recognize her as the familiar actress of her later movies like The Secret Garden. She just seems irresistibly feminine and charming to me. Am I just getting senile?
I remembered her excellent performance as the bride from my childhood but her role as Mary Shelley escaped me. I was truly shocked and had to watch it over and over so I copied the clips.
Heh. Not only did I win last night’s captioning contest, but I get to be first on the Monday morning thread which is worth another 1322 points!
Good morning, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven!
Congratulations on winning last night’s captioning contest! You really out-did yourself.
Hey, Paddy!
Monday gaaaaaaaahs!!1! from Happy Larryville, GN!
Congrats to Sven on his big score!

I think today’s thread GIF is some sort of metaphor for our country…or several sorts. 😉
Read last night that Il Douchey didn’t know about our spooks Hoovering-up phone data for foreign leaders until he read about it in the papers.
I’ll bet the dog ate the wiretap warrant, too.
“Spooks”? Racist.
Thanks, Paddy. It was a lot of prep time and then a lot of worrying about execution, but once the whistle blew, man, I was just in the groove.

Och…I’ve double kilt this one.
Man, Fatwa, when you kill something it stays dead!

I was noticing the same thing when I saw the movie the other night, Mac.
