Sunday ride? Looks like a very close up video of my hair which hasnt been washed recently….

Good morning! Happy Sunday!

Two things off of my chore list yesterday and like three more today. And then back to the salt mine on Monday.

Watched some of the left-leaning commie cable news shows this morning. Boy, that bridge scandal is quite the to do. The most awful, terrible thing to have ever happened in recent history, and them journalists are on it: digging, researching, interviewing, graphs…the whole nine yards. Good for them. I just wonder where they have been the last 5 years as scandal after scandal vomited forth from the WH.

Accenture is taking over the IT responsibilities for Healthcare. gov. a one-year contract valued at a minimum of $45 million.

I’ve worked with these guys before back when they AndersEn Consulting--one of the Big 6 consulting firms back in the 90s. Whatever happened to Anderson? Oh yeah--a little thing called Enron. Good times.

Hola from Happy Larryville, GN!

Hee! Beat me to that particular gag, señor.

NocturnalK is still a bit hack-y and snort-y but I’m mostly (95%-ish) recovered; glad we’re going to have a fairly warm and sunny day today. (I reckon my sense o’ humor will also bounce back at some point, too.)

Here’s hoping that you both are back to 100% in a couple of days. I keep telling you though, a caption contest would heal everyone quickly!

Off to the hardware store for parts. Can’t put it off any longer. Sniff.

Read about the new IT contract for healthcare.gov; WTF happened to all of the money the non-performing Canuckistanian bastards stole from us…and why are the responsible parties -- including Congressional ennablers -- not doing the Danny Deever?

(Rhetorical question; I know the eternal answer is, “fuck you; that’s why!”)

A blessed Sabbath, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven and Fatwa!

why are the responsible parties — including Congressional ennablers — not doing the Danny Deever?

Now that is something worth watching on pay-per-view!

Well, maybe. Especially if “Yakkity Sax” were involved. 😉

I wonder how different the political climate in this country would be had Gerald Ford not pardoned Nixon.

I cannot help but feel that forty years worth of iconic photos of that sweaty, paranoid, five-o’clock-shadowed, Jooooo-hating criminal scumbag sitting in a prison cell might have improved the behavior of subsequent politicians in some small way.

Back when I was in the advertising game, we called them Accidenture after we found this spoof on the Internets.

And ‘den! I was at our local Senate District meeting yesterday, and find out that the State of Texas had hired CGI to revamp the Railroad Commission’s website!
::bangs head on desk::
I was talking to the gal who’s running for the commission after the meeting, and she said the *only* light in that particular tunnel is the contract: they miss the first benchmark, and they’re history. And there are four more outs to sh¡t-can ’em in the contract too.

Those meeting aren’t the most riveting, but at least we get to meet the candidates for statewide office in small venues and get to speak with them afterwards. Our County Judge was waiting for me to unload on Cornyn’s aide who showed up, but he was such a child and so nervous it just didn’t seem fair.
(and why does everyone look at *me* for this, anyway? ::snicker::)

Other than that, Mr. X is out of his sling, and while he’s still taking it *mostly* easy, he’s stretching the shoulder and he got back to feeling “human” yesterday; welding in the shop, fixing the tractor, etc. Mentally, that’s making him feel a WHOLE lot better.

I’m about as ready for my trip to Detroit as I can get -- I *think*. There’s some last minute things I’ll throw in my bags, but I’m mostly ready. Hat, gloves, cashmere long coat: check. There are going to be some challenges to the trip, and some resulting rants I am sure.
I’ll have my iPad with me so I’ll type out some fresh ones. 🙂

*SMISH!* y’all!

Hey, TeX --

Cheers for checking-in; glad Mr. X is faring better and that you’re mostly ready for Detroit. (Too bad you can’t take a weapon with you…)

Have an uneventful “commute” and as much fun as possible! Look forward to your rants. 😉

I remind you that politics is a blood sport.

You’re right, Fatwa. The kid was nervous and scared, and that’s part of it, the other was I didn’t know where to START!
