Sure Happy It’s Thursday here in Snowy, Icy yet Happy Larryville, GN!
The serious frozed-up (sic) precipitation stopped before midnight ’round here. There’s a layer of heavy wet snow on top of the ice and teh neighborhood is eerily quiet…no school buses or folks going to work.
We’re expecting a high of 43F today, which will get the thawing off to a good start…until it starts refreezing sometime after 21.00 this evening. Then into the 50s tomorrow, leading me to expect that untreated roadways are not going to be very drivable until late tomorrow afternoon.
On the plus side, we haven’t had any power outages at CasaK and our creaky furnace keeps on keeping on. (We’ll be replacing the entire HVAC system later this year.) Also still have plenty of Fruity Pebbles and Mountain Dew, so I think we’re good. 😉
And I’ve got the opportunity to submit a revised bid for a 32,500 sq. ft. roofing bid in Northridge I originally bid 22 months ago; teh yay!
Sure Happy It’s Thursday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa!
I’m glad to hear that the Georgia contingent (Atlanta) is doing well. I hope Backhoe is, as well.
I loved the photo of laundry-basket sledding Brenda!
Here in SoCal we’re having to deal with (n)ice storms -- temps near 80 -- and I think the A/C in my vee-hickle is going out.
Thanks for checking in Fatwa and Kate; hope that the worst weather is over for you guys,
As Paddy noted, it will be unseasonably warm out here today, but I’m thinking this might be the new normal.
If you make it out to Northridge, Fatwa, dinner at Zig’s is on me!
Was talking with Mrs Sven this morning--her ears are ringing badly--the result of a beating she took in her younger days. I again floated the idea of finding this guy and administering some payback. I asked God about it; he’s being by-the-book: show mercy so that mercy will be shown to you. Forgiveness and all that. But what about symmetry, I ask? Wouldn’t it be just to dig this guy out of whatever hole he’s crawled into, if he’s even still alive, and blast an air horn in his right ear? Repeatedly. God is thinking it over.
Other than that, I got nothing except time for breakfast and off to work. You guys be safe and productive today.
Yeah…the worst of “Winter Storm Pax” is over for us; a couple of days to thaw and it’ll be back to normal weather-wise here. When the fark did they start naming winter storms??!? Are they going to start naming all weather events? Thunderstorm Emily? Sunny Day Herschel?
If you make it out to Northridge, Fatwa, dinner at Zig’s is on me!
Not to look a gift horse in teh mouth, but I think I’d rather have it on a plate;*ba dum bum!*
Very sorry to hear about Mrs. Sven and can certainly understand your wanting to dish-out some payback. (Having vengeful tendencies myself; at the top of my list, there’s a rat-bastard lawyer out there whom I’d dearly love to introduce to a baseball bat…or a 2″x4″ with several rusty 16D nails protruding from it.)
OK, it’s back to Chicago next week, or the week after, for me. I’m going to be commuting there over the next few months. Sure glad I’m retired or I’d really be busy.
I couldn’t believe when I read about that decision on AOSHQ -- yes, it makes sense, which is why I couldn’t believe the 9th Circuit issued that opinion. Now how long until we can carry in CA? Either open or concealed?

Hope you get an “answer” which you can live with.
GOOD AFTERNOON/MORNING EVERYONE!
Greetings from postcard perfect Bountiful.
I sure do hope y’all are having a winter wonderland kind of day, ’cause you just know I am.

Safe travels, Jerry.
Hit just a hair under 90 today in the Valley.
Good Second Amendment news out of our state today. Pigs will be flying next.
