It’s unfair that they only get nine lives. If I were God, I’d give them a gazillion lives.

Glad you are feeling better, TeX.

Just finished drying off after walking around the property. Gauge shows 2.5 inches overnight beginning around midnight, so what’s that: half an inch an hour? Cleared some clogged drains but all in all things look OK.

Happy Friday, GN!

Hai, Sven! Glad your inspection of teh Mountain Redoubt showed things are copacetic.

Outstanding thread pic, Mac; hee!

TeX --

Delighted to hear that you’re doing so much better; hope that trajectory continues.

Also hope teh SoCal contingent isn’t having any Raingarok-related issues.

Submitted my $344K bid package yesterday. I’m confident that it’s very competitive, plus we’ve got a bit of an inside track due to a 15+ year relationship with the customer. But I sure do dislike the “waiting game”. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Happy Friday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven and Fatwa!
Glad to hear that TeX and Mr. TeX are healing. Chronic pain sucks!

We got a third of an inch of rain yesterday morning, but it has been coming down pretty have since around midnight. We won’t get anything near what Sven gets, which is good, since the infrastructure couldn’t handle it.

Good luck on the roofing bid, Fatwa -- somebody’s got to get this economy moving, and it might just as well be jooooo!

Thanks, Paddy.

If only I were getting my payments from the, erm, “New York Money Men” every month, I’d be able to support EvilGingerK in the manner she could easily become accustomed to might -- eventually, with a lot of noodging on my part -- acclimate to. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Chronic pain sucks!
Yes, yes it does. I didn’t realize how much until it was gone!
I’m tempted to call the pain clinic and let them know that if I ever call to cancel appointment again that they should remind me I was an idiot for doing so the last time, and am I *really, really* sure I want to this time? I think they’d do it too. ๐Ÿ™‚

Other than that, I’m glad it’s Friday and Teh Manglerโ„ข has taken over proofing duties of my next-to-useless co-workers efforts of the last ten days, freeing me up to decipher oodles of ‘tings sent to me by my usual industry contacts.

Hope y’all have a Jerrie-ific (and winning! for Fatwa) day!

Home early. Man, is it wet out here. Man, does our infrastructure suck. Every street is flooded, every drain is clogged. A few small rock slides but so far everything holding up OK.

Turned on the teevee just in time to see the last part of Obama’s statement to the Ukrainians: “If you like your country, you can keep your country. Period.” Done deal then; crisis averted.

Let’s hope the Ukrainians don’t have to enroll on some State Dept website for any support.

Thank you Friday! It looks like I will not have to sleep at the Hall Saturday night after all! I had expected to finish with the Saturday night Quincenera after midnight and return by 5am for the breakfast for our #1 Favorite Client. Our cook had to take another job because we had so little work in Jan and Feb but she came by tonight and is eager to work weekends with us and will be staying late so I can go home. In other good news, I booked a big banquet ( on the one day in March I could take off). March is going to be so busy I don’t think I will notice if Spring comes!
