Maaaaaaan…I didn’t have any alcohol last night but that thread GIF’s freaking me right out, anyway. Plus, teh caption triggered a certain Maureen McGovern tune which is now looping in my brain; gaaaaaaaah!
Going back to bed’s looking like a fine idea; alas, there are things which must be done…tarnation!!!!!
My school district has moved to interest-based bargaining -- the concept that the two sides in a labor negotiation don’t have to work towards antagonistic ends. It seems to be working, but more to the point all site administrators and union reps are going through training on these techniques. Yesterday was the first session for a group of us -- 3:30 -- 8:30pm. The same today. The next block of two days of training will come sometime in April. While the trainer is very good and the material is interesting, it’s nothing that anyone who’s been around industry and/or management hasn’t heard before -- it all boils down to conflict avoidance and common sense. Let’s just say that yesterday was a very long day, and I fully anticipate more of the same, today. Oh! and today we start two days of CAHSEE testing! (California High School Exit Examination). This is the test (English Language Arts today, math tomorrow) that you must pass to graduate public high school. A 60% score is passing on the ELA portion and 51% is passing on the math, so the bar isn’t set particularly high. Oh, did I mention that the math only goes up to 8th grade level? Anyway, today is the first day that sophomores get a chance to pass the test (most do), which means I get to spend hours watching students bubble in little circles, then tell them when they are done that they have to sit quietly until the testing time is over -- no matter how early they finish.
Those bakers really ought to consider hairnets for their beards; just sayin’. (The white caps a couple of them are wearing make them look like employees at the International House of Cous-Cous.)
Paddy, that crowd looks pretty ticked off for people delivering a birthday cake. One suspects that they are not really on board with wishing the Hon’ble Sonia Je a happy birthday.
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. — State police are searching for an unlikely suspect in a western Pennsylvania hit-and-run accident: the driver of an Amish buggy.
Troopers from the Mercer barracks say the buggy twice hit a passenger vehicle at a crossroads on Route 158 in Wilmington Township, about 6 p.m. Sunday.
The buggy then left the scene and its driver has yet to be identified.
I have tried to resist forcing my enjoyment of HIMYM on y’all, cause I love y’all. Too bad. They finally jumped the shark of my resistance. I have always enjoyed the casually introduced homages to old comedy (I am looking for a link to their Who’s on First bit re night clubs) and the occasional Full Broadway Song and Dance routine but last week HIMYM worked Gilbert and Sullivan ( specifically HMS Pinafore) into the plotline front and center and background. Situation Comedy Perfection! OTOH tonight’s episode -- the 3rd from last -- was sweet but blah.

Good morning and happy birthday, Fatwa!
Good morning, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven!
Happy birthday, 2 of VII, Fatwa!
My usual baker stopped making deliveries, so I’m trying these guys:

Let the frivolity begin!
G’day, Sven and Paddy!

Which I suspect is a small minority of the participants.
Perhaps Will Rogers’ words re the latter won’t apply here; as such, I hope the interest-based bargaining actually works.
Good morning, all!

Danged Amish punks!
“Uh oh…punch it, Jacob!!!!”
