Well, it did for me in teh ’70s; figured as an hourly rate, I received about five times what I was making working retail full time. Have no idea how that might stack-up these days.

Deranged U.S. Senate candidate Rep. Paul Broun looks to have used $33K in taxpayer money to hire a campaign consultant. Pretty amusing for a guy running as a (fakey pretend) constitutional / fiscal conservative. Hope this becomes a large enough scandal to knock himself out of the race entirely.
Also wonder if he believes -- as a “scientist” -- Monday’s announcement confirming the existence gravitational waves was just another lie from the pit of Hell to convince people they don’t need a savior.

Testing is over and it’s back to the normal schedule. I’ll be helping out at a track meet after school today. Should be fun. No, Fatwa, I did not volunteer for the javelin catch.
If you guys can spare some good thoughts or prayers for Mrs Sven, it would be appreciated. She’s had a rough couple of months with spraining her ankles, then falling down the stairs, and now a severe allergic reaction to some medication her doctor prescribed that’s got me nervous and at home watching her.
This is not how we had 2014 planned that’s for sure.
I am very sorry to hear this, Sir. My best wishes for her. Please let us know how she is doing as you can.

Prayers and good wishes for Mrs. Sven and for 2014 to improve for you, Sven.
Happy First Day of Spring! It managed to feel like Spring here. and people were amazingly happy today ( well, not all but most I met today). My day started out as dreary worry and stress, but by noon all the problems had disappeared and the pulled pork was almost ready. Life was, all of a sudden, good. MOAR SPRING!
Thank you, guys; it’s appreciated more than you know. Mrs Sven is doing better--resting in bed now. Her doctor had prescribed Celebrex for the arthritis in her shoulders and after a week of taking it, she could actually raise her arms above her head. Then today in a really short period of time she broke out in a full-body rash the likes of which I’ve never seen. Her throat started to close up and she had difficulty breathing. Got a shot of some other stuff from her doctor and he prescribed several other meds which seem to be having a positive effect.
I feel so badly for her. This year has really just been one damn thing after the other for her.
